Finally got the Fog lights in and almost aimed where I want them. I think I will raise them just a bit.
The rock lights are pretty dialed, except the ones up front. The little air dam in front of the tires is blocking them. I think I know the fix…
I added seven 3/4” lights above the steps down each side. These fill in some light and plug those pesky holes FoMoCo left behind.

All in all, I am really happy with the combination of factory Lariat lighting and the LED lighting I have added. Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro yellow DOT fog lights, smoked LED side markers, clear sequential LED repeaters in the mirror (clear because they look better with Cactus Grey), LED puddle lights, Lux rock lights x4, white clearance lights x14, cool white LED strips down both sides and along the bulkhead in the bed, cool white/low lumen license plate lights (don’t blind the rear view camera).

I am pre-wired for another set of lights in the bumper opening, ditch lights, rear-facing, and an extra SAE connector for an illuminated whip front and back. Watching for some good Black Friday discounts.

Installed the AVS Aeroskin hood protector this afternoon. Went with the black, textured original version which was surprisingly hard to find now that the V2 and lighted versions are available.

Your truck looks amazing. I love the cactus gray with the black accents.
Looks perfect.

But you should stop now.....i think any more may be too much.

Hi Doc,

Yep....down through throat and then cardioversion shock treatment. When I woke up all the folks were gone but two nurses were there but they relayed the cardiologist said they got it back in rhythm and was confident it would stay there. Area where the paddles were attached front and back are like a sunburn. Still spacey from the sedation....before the start Cardiologist said I would likely only have to take the blood thinners for another month and then drop them... All in all it was a quick process and all the what if's did not happen. Maybe I can even sleep tonight with few worries. Not going to say it was a "piece of cake" but thankful I was not in the hospital over night or longer which I always dread...

Feel a bit of a big baby for being so afraid of this whole thing... Oh well...hope it lasts...

Best,
Phil
Great news Phil, very glad everything went well.

Lol, I absolutely agree. I realize I’m kinda walking a fine line here and appreciate the honest feedback. Fortunately, I don’t have anything else planned for the exterior…..although I would like to add a Retrax bed cover early next year. Do you think a matte black RETRAX would push it over the top?

The only other mods I plan on doing are a cold air intake and a performance tune. Maybe kick up the stereo a bit…..but from here on out the outside is done.

I’ve actually been toying with the idea of removing the Roush rocker panel graphic altogether. If anyone has any thoughts on that I’d love to hear ‘em.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Always appreciated.

Definitely get a bed cover. I was mainly talking about your balance between cactus gray and black. Looks awesome.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Got around to changing the headlights and fog lights over to LED, I used Auxito 6500K lights in all of them. High (9005) & Lo(H11) beam were easy, on the fog's I had to remove the front wheel splash guards, 3 bolts and they pull off, harder to get back on due to a tab that has to go between a plastic trim and the bracket. Had to crank the wheel back and forth a few times as I didn't want to take the tire off. Don't mind the smudge on the lens :)

Gave her what is likely the last wash of the year. Was hoping to get it waxed too, but didn't get started until this afternoon - it was 46 degrees this morning. Clean for a couple of days at least.

Finalized my kayak rack solution.

I never liked headache racks on Rangers until I saw yours John - it’s really very nice. Someone else on the forum has a black one on their white Ranger and it looks great too.

Using that single rear bar will likely come in handy for other applications too - you could strap down lumber or an extension ladder without resting it on the tailgate. Great setup!

Thanks, Duke. Much appreciated.

This project took me forever. I think I started trying to figure out this rack idea back in January. Below is one of my working drawings. LOL.

Planning is everything. Tailgate and bed are still accessible, easy to load and unload the yaks, they don’t extend too high or too far back. You clearly had a lot to consider. Would you tow it like this behind the Bay Star?

I will, yes. Those kayaks only weigh about 50 lbs each. So while it looks like I'm hauling a whale in the bed, the impact to the motorhome and its tow rating should be nil.
