Got a beefier set of tires for shadow. Before: 285/70r17 KO2’s. Now 33x12.50r17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT.

I have one of these, but haven't had time to install it. I am also thinking it might help the air move over the RTT.
I didn't read the thread title but I've had this installed two years ago lol and it's held up just great...a bead of black RTV along the gap between the part and roof panels helps give it a nice seal against weather getting under and make it look integrated...

That sounds like a good idea! I will do the same! Thanks!

Only slightly wider and a touch taller - I think it’s the thickness of the sidewall pattern that makes them look bigger at first blush. I think I need a “winter” set. ?

Yup. Doesn’t take much to make a big difference. More aggressive tread pattern was need too.

I got around to taking care of cabin to bed wire pass through all proper instead of the hodge podge setup I was using. Will it make a difference? Probably not, but I feel it will be more professional looking when I am done.

I was using the rubber grommet plug on the rear wall to get to the bed. So I just ran wiring through in a standard wire loom sleeve. Now I have drilled a direct hole with no bends and will use a flexible PVC pipe as a pass through which will in turn have a wire loom around it. In the bed this piping will connect to an easy access waterproof box with a hinged door. This will be mounted on the back wall of the bed on the driver side. I plan to do the same thing on the passenger side as I will feed solar array components and battery bank wiring on that side.

Of course this will all be cleaned up and sealed with black gasket maker once in place.

I added four relays in this box to operate my new roof rack HELLA lights. 2-2-2-1 (7 total). I only had one spot light relay on my cabin junction bar for my last light bar and these are going to pull considerably more juice and I didn't want all my hard work to melt into a ball of metal, rubber and plastic on the side of the road. I will still run a common ground and common trigger wire for all 4 into the cabin to the designated areas for such wiring.

The terminals in the box will serve as the new quick disconnect point for the cabin junction board and the perimeter rack lighting.

those do look nice! the difference in tread pattern and side wall really made a difference. how do you feel they compare to the ko2s you took off?

Yea well I have zero fabrication background and zero electrical background.

I don't own a welder and don't know how to operate one. (though its on my list to learn) I had to research carefully how to make everything I touch bolt together (and hide the bolts when I could)

All it takes is time and a few accumulated days of cursing like a sailor and next thing you know you are creating stuff that other companies charge 10 ten times for.

Honestly if some company came out and wanted to buy the idea behind my rack I'd sell out in a heart beat and move on to the next fabrication. I enjoy creating more than I do using it, not that I don't enjoy using it mind you.

Well its bed time I think, I just spent the last God knows how many hours putting this together.

7 way harness for my HELLA rack lights, grounds all meld together in the waterproof project box (will be installed on my roof) and 7 individual power lines (in one loom) that stretch 10 feet to reach the hook up box in the bed.

Wiring ain't so bad, but threading mesh split loom makes muh fingers hurt.

A little noisier but not bad. Ride is similar. Tires are quite a bit heavier. Love em. Have them on Wife’s wrangler in 35’s. That’s why I wanted them. Very good overall tire.

Redid everything the dealer took out during the airblender box replacement

This got me thinking about printing a mount for my Auxbeam 8 in the dash tray. Make it look really clean... Too bad I don't have a 3D printer or skills... Might have to start looking in to it.

I cut the rusted bottom bars off of my tyger star armor steps and gained 4" of clearance. These things are on borrowed time until I buy some sliders...
