I installed the the In channel side window deflectors on the driver and front passenger window. The windows rubs the deflector when putting the windows up. The passenger window occasionally will not go up completely due to the interference. Anyone else having this issue?

I have the same Weathertech deflectors on my windows as well, it definitely did the same thing at first as well. It takes a few weeks and a few warm days in the sunlight but eventually they will go up/down without problem. There is always going to be a minor “bump” sound when the window contacts the deflectors in the channel, but you shouldnt have any problem with the Auto-Up feature.

Give it time. It will settle in but at the beginning this will happen.

I will second what the other posts say...

I installed mine last week as well. At first the windows hit the deflectors pretty hard and that stopped them. I re-read (well...read!) the instructions and it said to give the deflectors a pull (away from the truck) to help seat them in the outer part of the channel. After doing this the windows worked with just a slight rub as they contacted the deflectors.

Less than a week later and now I can't even tell that the window hits the deflector at all...

In-channel deflectors are known to prematurely wear out the window motors because of the resistance.

I had AVS in channel defectors on my 2011 Ranger and never had to replace a window motor in the 10 yrs I owned it. My son has in channel on his 2009 and has never replaced a window motor.

Would these in-channel versions damage aftermarket window tint?
I wouldn't think so. Window tint film is on the inside I believe and these would be rubbing the outside.

The gaskets for the windows were designed to be tight fitting against the glass.
You're adding extra material for the gasket to seat against now.
As other posters said. Give it time. Warm weather will help, but your best bet is to keep the window in the up position for awhile to pack the gasket.

I have aftermarket tint, no issues whatsoever.

I've also used the same style (Weathertech) guards on many vehicles over the years and have never once had a window drive motor malfunction...

Did anyone have to install the window channel clip with the front deflector? Was it easy to install the deflector over the top of the clip?

The video made it look pretty easy. I chose not to do it at all. It's been a few weeks and I've had zero issues

My daughter had these in her Ford Focus. Passenger window burned out a motor because of it “hanging up” on the deflector. I had to remove them and carefully sand the leading edges down to a taper. Took old 3M tape off and put new on. Stopped window hanging up but the last inch of window closing you could hear the motor strain to finish and seat closed.

Didn't use the clips and have no issues.
