Before I I even drove onto the lot for my ‘24 Ranger I had printed offers from Carvana, Carmax & Webuyanycar all in the 18-22k range (19 Lariat 2wd, 75k)
*first offer from dealer: $18k, I got up & started walking towards the door & said I was going somewhere that was serious about closing a...
A picture of my 2019 ranger parked beside my brand new 24 ranger.
Trade in value was still very strong after 5 years & 75k miles, but it was definitely the tailgate dampener that pushed the dealership offer top dollar.
Before I had a Line-X liner, my truck had a drop in liner and I was able to install a Bakflip MX4. There were a couple of brackets that attached to pre-drilled holes in the bed. Having the liner definitely made it more difficult, but not impossible.
I have both the MX4 & Line-X. The local Line-X dealer for me was also a Backflip distributor and they would have installed both if I wanted. There is no “drilling” required, but if the Line-X came first you may need to clear some holes for the mounting brackets.
For me the MX4 is the way to go, its super easy to open/close and has held up well for almost 2.5 years. Very good quality & workmanship, I would definitely buy this again if I wanted a quality tonneau cover and $ was not an option
Exactly, if I need to pass a Tacoma the tendancy with T/H engaged is to stay in 10th gear longer rather than drop to 9th or 8th & increase RPM (and fuel consumption)
19 Lariat 2WD:
Generally around 26mpg, mostly interstate driving to work 2x/week
36-38psi
87 octane
75 max on the interstate
Tow/Haul mode engaged on the interstate
**Dee Zee tailgate damper
Overall very impressive for a pickup truck, but the mileage definitely falls off a cliff in colder...
Yes, but Id look for the same thing I have now - 2WD 2019 lariat. Im not a fan of the 20/21 losing components & swapping with cheaper materials.
If that wasnt an option I would stay in the ford family and look for an F-150 with similar features & V6
No sir, its nice thick 3M style tape that sticks onto the hood to keep it from going anywhere. Even with the different design the Aeroskin II has Ive never seen any indication it was not secure at highway speed. No screws, no latch adjustments - super easy install & plenty of youtube videos for...
Ive had Michelin Defenders on my Ranger for about 9 months and they are a huge improvement over the stock Bridgestone OEM tires.
100% would recommend & definitely proud to give my business to Discount Tire. Winning combo.
No experience towing with Michelins - its kinda hard when I dont have the tow package ?♂️
But +1 for going with Michelin Defender LTX M/S as replacements.
Great to see another Mark Martin fan on here! I started following in 1993, Mark Martin & Davey Allison were my favorite drivers. I went to both Darlington races last year (meant to snap a pic of the ranger parked in the infield but totally forgot!)
Yes sir, the self-install was not very difficult and there are plenty of YouTube videos you can use as reference. If you do not have a Bedliner it shouldn't take more than 60-90 min with minimal difficulty. My Line-X dealer was charging a little over $100 to install it, but its generally a DIY...
