Hey guys. I have a 2019 Lariat FX4 with 14000 miles. I put a Rough Country 2 1/2 inch spacer lift up front with 265/65 BFG TAKO2's on 18" Black Rhino Armory 18x9.5"(-18mm Offset). I noticed that both upper control arm bushings on BOTH sides are split. I have not noticed any noises or issues. I do some pretty rough rocky off-roading here in the Wyoming mountains. Is this common? I wasn't wanting to replace the control arms yet but if there are any safety or damage concerns I will. Thanks for your time.

I don’t know about the bushing but it looks like the control arm is separated at the weld. Yes, it’s a problem - you need to park it before it fails and you lose control and hurt someone, or worse.

Time to upgrade to something that will take the punishment of your off-roading style and that offset.

T = d x F

Thanks for the response. Yea now that I look at the zoomed image it looks like the bushings came that way from factory. Just never noticed. As far as the weld... Yikes!! Ill take a closer look all the way around. So am I overstressing the factory suspension with my setup?

That’s only my guess because of the -18mm offset but that definitely looks like an open crack at the top. Others on here will be more informed than me and might chime in.

Is it creaking - making noise?

It might be a shadow but it looked like a gap when I enlarged the photo….

Yes lifts without new uca's put stress on not only the control arms but also the cv's as well especially if you drive it like we both do lol I would advise doing a proper lift kit with new ucas instead of a spacer you will be very happy you did

Thank you. So I just went in the garage and double checked. It was a shadow from my light on the left side. But thanks for pointing it out. Yea I'm already on stage3. I currently have Icon rear shocks w/reservoirs but prices have really gone up. Any mid level recommendations?

If you’re going the replacement route I would make sure the bushings are polyurethane ones. The do ride harder than rubber ones but will outlast the vehicle if you do use them.

Rubber ones like what you have really only last a few years under stressed conditions.
