I reached out to stage3 on this who I purchased from, who in turn reached out to AFE.

They indicated to Stage3 they hope to have it done by the end of this morning shipping next month. That's what I was able to gather. Hopefully sooner. Idk how it's taken this long given its printed plastic. XD
It's not printed plastic. I'm pretty sure they're injection molded. They may have originally modeled it from 3D but not for mass production..

Just got the shipping notice from aFe that mine is getting ready to ship. Supposedly to be delivered in five days.

I like the look.

I wonder what the difference in volume of that horn compared to the stock unit. Clearly there is more opening on the leading edge of the aFe unit - the 'wings' on either side of the stock horn are solid.

I got mine in and on....I don't know how much of a difference it will make. But I like the look.

Well just to be honest with it being red that adds 10 HP right there!!! LOL.

I am curious as to how it will benefit too and i feel it would be a nice addition to the velocitech intake as well.

I'm sure the factory seal will be intact after install(?) and I've been thinking of cobbling together something around the hood latch area to keep more pressure in the 'plenum' area.

Mine is in. I was curious what the difference in volume was and filled the two horns with water and transfer to cup measures. The Ford factory horn leaks, so the 22 ounces I managed to capture might be a couple ounces low. The aFe Magnum is 40 ounces, no joke.

I swapped the metal spacers from the stock unit to the aFe. You need a Torx 30 driver. Super easy install.

Along with the Velossatech I can only guess what change this will bring. Perhaps pressure will take longer to build but since the aFe is sealed more perhaps the pressure will be more sustained.

Speaking of which I'm back to looking at sealing the 'plenum' focusing on the hood and shroud around the hood latch:

Look at my build thread to see how I "sealed" that area.

Looked like you added a seal across the area to the left of the latch. I dunno if I'd do the same even though I've picked up volume at the horn and the VelossaTech is presumably adding pressure.

It's not a high priority item.

I think whatever comes up from the latch is negligible considering its coming from that huge area that's undirected.

John, are you still running the stock paper filter?
Yes. No intention to change, I doubt I will overwhelm it, and while it would be a convoluted path for grit to get to the airbox, I want to keep my truck's lungs as clean as possible. The factory horn leaks air, the aFe unit is a single molded piece. Ray's (RCMUSTANG) assessment of pressure loss from the latch opening seems reasonable.

I'd like to change to the WIX equivalent filter but they never seem to be in stock anywhere.
