If you really want to save gas, slow accelerations from stops is 1,000% more effective than the SS function. You can add 5+ mpg doing that.

My SS was originally deactivate via nightlight but then I used Forscan and don't plan on turning it back on until I decide to trade/sell the truck and give the next owner that option - or they pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel - whichever comes first.

I filled up recently and slowly accelerated on the way home and hit 21+ mpg on the way home - short 5 mile drive, usually I'm in the 17mpg range.
Keeping it under 2,000 RPM is the big key to MPG gains. Or drive like you are towing something very heavy.

Yeah, but then you punch it and the smile is priceless, at my age I don't know how many more smiles I have left so I have to get them where I can.

They could've made it with a little more delay. When I pull into my garage and hit the brake, it shuts off, then restarts for a second when I put it in Park then I shut it off. I got into the habit of shutting it off while still in Drive then put it in Park, but It gives out a warning chime and a message VEHICLE NOT IN PARK

If you ease up on the brake just a little , it usually wont shut off , I was getting fairly well at stoplights and parking that way ...before I went to tow mode full time.

Right!! It does the same to me every time I pull into my driveway. I do wish I could hop into forscan and adjust the delay a bit. Better yet, put it in the fuel economy menu or something.

Mine works sometimes and sometimes not. Is it dependent on the weather or whether you are running AC or heater or the radio?

No one who buys a $6 cup of coffee should complain about $4 a gallon gas. (Note: I do not spend $6 for a cup of coffee.)

I don't know of many who drink 18 gallons a week. So not exactly apples to apples there. That said, got your point and I don't drink that stuff either.

Maxwell House Original roast with a touch of local honey, for the allergies, is what I run on.

Signature blend from a local coffee shop & roastarie. I still have my window cleaning gear from when I owned a cleaning company, I clean their windows once a month and they pay me with two pounds of coffee, whole bean, I grind my own.
