So I’ve always been told (not lately though) to Always turn off the AC before turning off the vehicle. Is this another of my personal outdated “car-isms” or could it actually be Beneficial to the AC compressor and clutch? My trucks ASS still activates even w the AC on, once it cools the cabin down, so as long as I let ASS be then it’s going against what I’ve always been told on its on.

I'm pretty old and I have never turned the A/C off before shutting off a vehicle and it has never caused me problems.

I leave mine on all the time so when I remote start it the truck is cooled off. Same with the heat in the winter but we really don't have much of a winter here. I did this back east since the early 90's both with heat and ac and never had any issues.

That’s another good point about Ford pass remote start. Mine today turned the ac on by itself today when I remote stated it with Ford pass. That’s cool.

I set mine to Auto the day I bought it. I don't know if it has ever been changed from that setting.

This was a picture from earlier today. There are a couple million people that live in the desert SW. Do you really think they are turning off the ac in their cars? Wednesday wil be 113F in Vegas

I get that it’s hot for the next few months. I mean turn it off just before killing the engine, then turn it back on soon as you fire up the truck again. Yes, I see that key fob remote start doesn’t automatically turn on the ac when it’s hot like the app does I guess.

105 is nothing lol I'd love for it to be that cool here. Heck it's 7:15 pm and it's still 109 out here with 117 forecasted this week.

Even here in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin we like to cool are cars off some times. We have had a record number of days in the mid nineties this year already. I'm beginning to think global warming is real, just not sure it's all man-made. My climate controls live in auto all year round.

I don't know fer-sher, but it would seem logical to tie in the A/C belt clutch with the ignition at some point in power distribution so that the belt clutch disengages on key shutoff but not ASS shutoff.
mine has dual climate control and I leave mine set at 71º most of the time. Some times it heats, sometimes it just blows air sometimes it cools. Mrs Motorpsychology is learning to live with it. In our dual air Escape, she would dial her side down to Lo, then up to 78, then back to 65 then to 74 then...
while I kept mine at 70 in that car.
I suppose she averaged about 70º, and gave that circuit board a good workout!
