Hi All,

I was running some errands this morning and at one of my stops, the Ranger wouldn't start for me. The push button would go into accessory mode but that's it. Every warning light came on known to man- battery, ACC, door ajar, TPMS, and on and on. I was able to move the shifter into every gear and the brake peddle was firm. After half an hour, it started right up. :headbang: It was the coldest morning yet (28 degrees) and the sync system finally updated this morning. Hopefully it threw a code and I can go from there. Has anyone else run into this issue? The warden thinks I should take it to the dealer before my warranty is up (6,000 miles left).

Wonder if it is lariet specific. I have heard this across the ford line up with push button. Cold batteries in the fob could cause it. Try the cup holder method next time.

Did it again.

I called the dealer and he thinks it's the battery, but they can't get me in until after the holiday. He told me to put it on a trickle charger.

There has been several other members here who have had that happen but was a one time event. So far I have not had it happen.
The Op stated he had all the accessory lights come on. I believe the issues other members have had, the truck was completely dead. No lights and no indication of power

I was thinking battery as soon as you described the issue......
Especially with the cold weather.....
I have a 2019 Lariat and expect to need a new battery within the next year for sure....we'll see.....

I’ve had this happen twice to me months apart from eachother with a regular ignition switch. Went to go start it while running errands and just a click and my heart sank and then blinking lights and warnings for every system like OP described. Cycled the ignition and everything was fine. I don’t have a fix I just let it go and it seems to just be a glitch.

Finally got the Ranger into the Ford dealership to get the battery tested. Eight hours on that darn battery testing machine and it turns out that there’s nothing wrong with the battery. ?

I ran into a similar issue last winter with my XL. My truck doesn't have as may bells and whistles as you Lariat but its worth a try. My truck was very difficult to start on cold mornings, extended crank times. Dealer was useless told me the battery was fine and to get lost. I started tinkering with a multimeter and found a peracetic draw from the head unit. Found that the Wi-Fi hookup that does updates will stay on and drain the battery which on a normal day is not an issue but when the temp plummets, it's enough to drain the battery overnight. Especially if your battery is perhaps not new and maybe only has another year left but its not bad enough to fail a test yet. Try going into the settings on your radio and turning off the Wi-Fi and the 911 assist. You shouldn't need to disable the remote start as it seems to not be the issue, at least for my XL. Hope it helps.
