Hey everyone,
Long time lurker on this forum, didn’t think my first post would be this but here we go.

2019 XLT Sport Crewcab 20k miles.

I started having the dreaded rough shifting. Took it to the dealer 3 weeks ago and they performed the TSB for this. Luckily the tech drove it afterwards and noticed it got worse. They determined there was something wrong internally so they decided to “rebuild” my transmission. The 3 weeks was mostly waiting for parts (see attached photos of the write up).
Finally got it back yesterday and drove it ~100 miles. Happy to report so far so good! Shifts great! Little to no rough shifts(I assume there will be a few during the relearning process).

Just wanted to post this for informational purposes. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to answer best I can.

Cheers,

Jason

Glad they fixed it and it's running good again for you. Weird how all of a sudden there's been several transmission issues and they're at all different mileages.

I was thinking the same thing reading others posts as I waited to hear back about mine.

Seeing as you don't put many miles on it I would try and drive it more now. This way you can make sure it's fixed right and there's no surprises later on. I'm sure it is but better safe than sorry. Good luck with it and keep us updated. ?

Good advice, I’m going to tell the wife I “have” to go up to the cabin to test the truck out ?. I also purchased an extended warranty since I love the truck so much.

Glad you got it fixed under warranty...nothing to worry about since you now have another 3 years and unlimited miles covered...not need to put miles on it unnecessarily...

Its used in alot different ford vehicles so guessing the defect rates are still really low.

That's why I made it a WiKi so anyone can add to it.

Unnecessary miles?? Says the one who travels to the next time zone for lunch.?

But seeing as he has so little miles now, Id still put some on just for piece of mind.

The way mine downshifts coming to a stop , i fully expect it to need something metal inside replaced someday...
Yeah mine with 6000 feels like I’ll be needing a new one soon. Hoping it just fully blows up so I don’t have to do the runaround with the dealer. Easier to show them something is wrong with the transmission when it’s in pieces in the bed of the truck ?

I agree, so far I think this can be filled under 'shit happens'.
