I am sure they are installing a Transmission that has the updated internals, but since the P/N remains the same and the only indicator is the buildup date of the transmission itself, this makes it confusing to know for sure.
As with most Ford Parts the (-) indicates revision level, this is not the case with the 10R80.

I went down this path with Ford Parts & Svc Mgr on my truck.
Aug 16, 2022, Build Date - TSB path (On or Before Aug 15, 2022) has the old-style drum.
So, my truck is a special case and no clear answer form Ford - Does My Transmision have the updated Drum? there is no way to tell for sure (100%)
So, with the TSB and my transmission placard (Build Date July 25, 2022)
We can determine that at least in roughly July 2022 they started building them with the updated internals.
And if your Rangers Build Date is After Aug 16, 2022, you will have a transmission with the updated internals.

That is the only information we have to go by; I cannot see Ford installing a transmission that has a known failure record (1st production - Aug 15, 2022) but again the TSB only addresses the CDF Drum, it does not state in writing that if replacing the Transmission they must use a transmission built (July 2022) or after, so this is going to be a situation where the installing tech needs to be aware of this date.
The main question is - How many new Transmissions are in the system that do not have the new internals? and are they required to be torn down and rebuilt?
His is a 2019

I bought the truck at a used car dealership . 2 1/2 months ago and only put 1300 miles. Is there anything I can do to the dealership?

It would be wonderful if the selling dealer offers some kind of help, I am assuming this was (AS-IS - No Warranty) but I doubt that's going to happen. It all depends on their (Good Faith) Reputation how much (if any) assistance they will offer. Buy Back or Cover all or Partial costs.
The sad part is - Just OUT of Powertrain Warranty and highly likely the sole reason it was on the lot for sale.
I believe the dealer can see (as it is highly likely) that it was previously checked by another dealer by using the VIN#, previous owner was either denied warranty or previous TSB steps were already c/w and they just decided to dump it.
If I recall from all the other members issues- it was a subtle progression of issues, so I find it rather odd (a red flag) that it was traded off just at warranty expiration and I highly suspect that the issues were known prior to your purchase by the previous owner.
Note: The selling dealer most likely did not know - it's hard to say for sure as the transmission issues has a long history of coming out of the dealer bay (No Faults Found - Could No Duplicate)

Either way, I HOPE you get some help as that is a huge price tag to swallow and depressing for a new to you truck purchase. It sucks no matter how you look at it.

I been getting quote for rebuild fir 3k-4k removal and installation with the new cdf drum
Is that a complete rebuild or just the CDF drum replacement? If the latter be careful of extra charges they find after tear down and inspect.

So update got my truck fixed brand new transmission. It was $12,000, but ford helped me with $9200. So I only paid $2800 for a new transmission.
That sounds like the deal of the day lol! I’m glad they worked with you and paid a substantial portion of the bill!

$12k eh...that's about half of the original base trim $25k MSRP for the entire truck...

That’s great! But the $12000 is a fictitious number. The 2wd new transmission is anywhere between $5000 and $6000 . Labor would be no more than $2000 to swap a 2wd transmission. So in real world numbers that job would be between $7000 and $8000. Too bad they didn’t give you $9200 off those prices ?. But $2800 is great for being out of warranty.

That’s exactly what I said. I’m like that’s half the truck! But I’m glad I got super good deal. Honestly definitely get the extended warranty that was my mistake.
