Say a YT video in Australia where someone did a ghetto flush by putting a plastic tube up the inlet where the filter normally plugs in the other end goes in a 5 litre bottle of trans fluid. He then ran the engine at idle letting the trans pump suck up the fluid and fall out the bottom of the trans
(obviously the pan is off) into one of those kids clam shell pool things.

With my own experience, I would only do a fluid exchange over a flush. Regardless of vehicle manufacturer, I have usually seen it where once a transmission flush is done the vehicle will no longer move under its own power.

With that said I understand that the 10R80 is a pain to work on thanks to the lovely engineers..... Because of that I would recommend both the PPE Standard Pan and an aftermarket dip stick(others have a good recommendation for that). These two things will allow you to do a drain and fill without having to drop the transmission pan going further.

Had transmission flush done by Ford at 90,000 miles. I’m near 148k now and was considering the next flush at 150k. However, most everything I read says do not flush high mileage transmissions because the flush could break crud loose. Of course the dealer recommends flush because they make more money. I’m more interested in making my truck last longer than I am donating money to them.
Any thoughts on flush or just drain and fill?

I merged this with all the other threads on this so you can see the results.

Have you had the filter changed yet? Maybe just drop and fill with a filter change. That's what I am considering.

I don’t think they pulled the pan, just did a flush. I’m also considering the same as you.
