Anyone done any towing with their Tremor?
I am going to tow my Polaris RZR on an aluminum trailer.
What can I expect?
I tow a 17' ft Boston Whaler with two engines, main and kicker, with galvanized trailer and the Ranger pulls it effortlessly. More importantly, though, is I launch/retrieve it on a very gravely/pebble steep beach without any drama. My 2018 F150, which also had a locking diff, had more problems getting off the beach than the Ranger. In the F150, I had to regularly air down the tires to make it work. The Ranger hasn't put up any fuss and plows through it.
May want to watch the speed, owner's manual states to not exceed 70mph while towing. I set the cruise at 70MPH with the adaptive at max gap when speed limit is >=65MPH.I just used my '21 Ranger Tremor to move from the Salt Lake Vally in Utah to Idaho Falls. For my move, I rented a 6 x 12 ft enclosed Uhaul trailer. I was a little worried because I was hauling up my heavy workbench with tools, a washer and dryer, couch, and full bedroom set. the tremor definitely squatted a bit, and it looked like it was resting on the bump stops, but I didn't think to measure the squat. I left early in the morning to attempt to avoid traffic as much of the 240-mile drive is on the freeway with an 80 MPH speed limit. I was very gentle for the first hour, but became very surprised at how well the trailer towed. I was trying not to go over 75 mph, but by the time I got to Pocatello, I was driving 85-90 mph. I could not be more astonished at how the truck handled. Yes, the truck did spend more time in the upper rev range, but I never felt I had a lack of power. I had no trailer sway at all and felt very safe the entire time. With myself and my brother in the truck with me as well as a bed full of other stuff I'm sure we were either right at, or above the max payload but all went well.
The Uhaul trailer did have trailer breaks which did help.
I would not be worried at all about towing your RZR.

Something to also consider is general vehicle safety and the fact that Ford does not want to be held liable if you go too fast.Yeah I started out keeping it 70, but the speed limit is 80 and most people go around 85, so driving 15 mph slower than everyone was a little scary. I'm almost positive the only reason the owners manual states 70mph is because the ranger doesn't have trailer breaks. The engine or transmission didn't seem any more labored than usual.
What kind of mileage did you get when towing? You'll be fine. I have towed everything from travel trailer, to car carrier with a Explorer on it, to a skip loader. Some of these I have towed as far as South Dakota from Los Angeles.
No problems, truck doesn't care and this always been with a 2.5" lift on 33's.
Everyone is always amazed at it's capabilities.
Well, if you don't have trailer brakes I think the max tow load rating is 1650lb according to the owner's manual, yes I know the U-Haul trailer includes surge brakes. Trailer brakes are an option that can be added and my manual does not state that with the brakes the 70mph limit can be ignored. As for why there is 70 limit to start with, I can't say why, could be the trailer sway control programming was found ineffective over 70mph at recovering a sway. But operating a vehicle outside what the manufacture states it should be could make you liable for any issues that happen, whether its just wear on the vehicle or a wreck.Yeah I started out keeping it 70, but the speed limit is 80 and most people go around 85, so driving 15 mph slower than everyone was a little scary.
