Just curious about some input on this configuration it's not recommended for beginners to the world of towing but am I trying to pull to much out of my 2022 Ford Ranger Lariat Sport RWD w electric locking rear diff. Trailer sway control 4k tow package. On the tow hitch I've got a 49912 Reese Integrated Sway Control Weight Distribution Kit. And I'm towing a 2022 Jayco Jayflight SLX 8 236TH.

Let me ask you one simple question.

With the total weigh of the trailer and the load you have in the trailer, is it within the max towing Capacity of 7,500 LBS that the Ranger will allow?

If you said yes then you are ok. If you said no and it is over that then you are not ok.

Make sense? I don't care how big the trailer is. If it is within capacity and you feel comfortable, that is all that matters.

I see one problem right off.....the dry hitch weight is 830 lbs, so your 80 lbs over the recommended max hitch weight of 750 lbs. and that's before loading the first can of beans.
Your trailer weight is under, but your hitch is over, and probably means your going to be somewhere around 1000 lbs hitch weight when loaded out with your food and "stuff".....WAY over recommended max.
A few lbs over, no big deal, but your going to have some stability problems with that much hitch weight.
Unfortunately, the way the trailer is laid out, your not going to be able to overcome the hitch weight.
Our trailer is larger than yours, but with a hitch weight thats acceptable. And, I'm very experienced, but even I wouldn't tow that rig with a Ranger.

Too much tongue weight, Ranger max is 750lb, the dry tongue weight on that is listed as 830lb. Would not recommend.

What makes that thing so heavy on the tongue? Axle location? We run a Gulf Stream 24RLS it’s tongue weight is 580Lbs with similar length and empty weight ( even a bit heavier). Wondering if it’s a typo.

Look at the placement of the axle's....their further back to allow for the weight of the "hauler" portion of the rig....in case you didn't realize it, it's a "toy hauler". Axle's are placed furthur back so the rear can handle the weight.....that leads to a longer unsupported weight in the front.
Also, look at the location of the bathroom.....willing to bet that the black and gray tanks are located forward of the axle.....not much weight when empty, but add fluid ane weight goes up. Fresh water tank is probably forward of the axles also....even carrying 10 gallons for roadside use adds 70 or so lbs.
Our rig, a Jayco 24RL is heavier, but with a lighter tongue weight, similar to yours.

Not to mention that he's starting with a Lariat, so he'll be down on payload to start with.

Maybe if you load every single thing you're taking with you in the trailer behind the axles.....

Toy haulers and Ranger are just not a great combo, too much hitch weight.

Add in 2 people at ~200 LB each maybe a dog, or some luggage in the bed and you're now well north of payload...

Where does it state max tongue weight of 750#. Not disagreeing, just wondering!

Page 224 of the 2021 owners manual.
May be a different page number in the 2019.
