Hi All,
Purchased a 21 Lariat Ranger FX4 about a month ago, traded my 17 Edge in, slapped a few more skins down and walked away with a beautiful Ranger.
Now you folks are going to get me in trouble with the misses, I can't get over how great these trucks look leveled, with beefier tires on some sweet looking wheels on it.
Long story short I was in the dealership for an oil change on the Edge and naturally I always have look to see what is in the show room, well no Rangers, so ask a sales person, their response was, good luck we aren't even taking orders on them right now 2021 is sold out and there is a change for 2022 and we are not able to take orders on the 22's just yet. Left my name and about 2wks later sales calls tells me a black Lariat has opened up (apparently deal went South) was I interested, I'll be there tomorrow morning, he says can't gaurantee it will be here still.
Well it was and I purchased it!
I especially like the mods @DukeCanBuildit has done to True North all but the cap (not that I don't like the cap just don't need one), so far all I have done is add a Rough Country trifold hard cover, I am thinking of a ICON 2.5" lift/level complete with tubular UCA's and Method MR301 Wheels with BFG KO2 +18 275/70/17 and a bunch of additional as time goes by. The crash bars seem to be hit and miss, some say they have the clearance other say they don't, I believe that I will be removing, modifying them (I weld) and putting them back on.
I really like the look of the Ward front bumper with the builtin winch but I am uncertain that I would dive in that deep. As a semi retired consulting engineer for Ford I have a bunch of time on my hands and the wife appears to be keen on the tent system that can be added to the truck so who knows that may be in the future as well, I believe it called over landing?
I have never done any off road driving but watching the youtube videos it appears that these trucks are very capable especially when in the control of an experienced offroad driver.
Love the forum alot of talent on here and some great advice!
