If it was replaced it would have most likely been done by the dealer, they should have ALL service records via the VIN. (All Dealers Can Access this information)
I highly doubt an independent shop would tackle that job as it is a newer vehicle and although I am comfortable doing it as I have done other vehicles for Heater Cores, not many owners would do it.
Especially if under Warranty.
So, if it was done it would have been at a dealer and it will be documented.

Being that Blend Door is thrown around so much I want to point out the correct name of the actuators and what they do.

For Dual Automatic Control

#4 = Air Distribution Door Actuator = This distributes the air - Floor, Panel, Defrost

#1 - Drivers Temp Actuator - Drivers Temp Output

#5 - Passenger Temp Actuator - Passenger Temp Output

#6 - Air Inlet Door Actuator (Aka-Recirculation Door) Outside Air Inlet from the cowl and the open vents right beside it is the mouse entry point into the cab.

NOTE: If you do not have the Dual Automatic Control and have the Electronic Manual Temp Control you will not have item #1
Both Drivers and Passengers side are controlled via Item #5

So, to clarify which actuator did you pull and move the door?

#5. It's a XL so has the base HVAC.

It really does seem like this issue is going to impact >50% of the 2019-2020 units. I would hope eventually Ford would do something about it.

@DerangedPony you could try for an extended warranty while everything is in working order, get your moneys worth (by a factor of 2) on this repair when it eventually fails, and then have a worry-free 5 years. Granger pretty regularly has a great deal on the extended warranty. I was quoted $2k for a 2019 w/ 41,000mi.

Was your ranger past the 3 year warranty when u got it? I have looked on thier web site and it doesn't list 2019 as availiable!

Ell it has been over 3 years since the last 2019 has been made. In the owners manual it states you can only apply the extended warranty(factory) if you are within the 3/36 warranty

Eh, maybe. I don't see how the box can be warped if the day that the issue started, I was able to test the door and it moved the full motion and be 100% smooth. I've had the truck since new and this is the first issue ever.

If it happens again, I'll replace the actuator and if it happens one more time, I'll fix it again and trade it in.

I just don't have any faith with the dealers diagnosing the issue correctly so they automatically go to replacing everything which makes it seem like a larger issue than it really is. I fully lost faith with the dealers when my parents took their 19 Super Duty in for vibration in the front end. Dealer gave them a quote for $3k to fully rebuild the front steering. They asked me to check the u-joints and I found the factory bug guard had some broken mounts from the carwash and it dragging in the wind caused the shaking.

It feels like the dealers are having issues getting good techs so the ones they do have replace parts instead of diagnosing.
Could be understaffing, but everyone is understaffed these days and if you expect to run a business you figure it out. I do know that one dealer in my area is known for underhiring and overworking so there's that.

@Frenchy , this is sort of not true. You can schedule an appointment with your dealer who will perform the inspection that they'd do to make a vehicle a CPO. If it passes, you can buy an extended warranty that they call a Continued Service Plan (CSP). It's a bit more expensive than the ESP but it is essentially the exact same thing. So technically you're right about the ESP, but functionally, the CSP and the ESP are the same thing from my understanding.

Unfortunately for OP, his truck may not pass this inspection and he'd be unable to take advantage of this CSP. But he could at least try :like:

Everything is still working today. Around how much would the CSP cost? Idk, I'll keep it in mind but the used car market seems to be getting better in my area so the plan is still to trade it in if it keeps being an issue.

I was quoted just north of $2k for a bumper to bumper 5yr/60k extension from @Zach@granger that would've taken my truck to 10yr/100k. I think with all the tech in these vehicles, that's a great deal. PM Granger and they'll get you set up with a quote. Then your local Ford dealer can perform the inspection (or try to beat Granger's price, which in my case, my dealer was NOT EVEN CLOSE) and then send the inspection document back to Granger to set up the CSP. Seemed like a really easy process. But I traded in my Ranger last week, so I didn't go through with it.

Maybe but you have to think that the heat is always on behind the door so the box always has heat in at least half of it. Also, my wife said it started first thing in the morning so the box was cold.

I'll update this if it happens again. I have a three hour drive on Sunday.
I think temp has something to do with it too. I've noticed a trend that mine clicks less when the trucks been driven a while. When it's the first start up of the day Click click click . Maybe the electrical stuff tries and tries until they get hot also leading to warped parts.

2021 here, I've had this clicking going on for a while, waiting for my one piece driveshaft to show up at the dealer so they can address both problems at once. (good thing my new trans is still going strong)
Truck has been in the shop for a month now, this is the "progress" picture I was sent today when I let the tech know I was coming down to pick up (I was told it would be done).

New climate control assembly under warranty (200 miles left on ESP), had them put in new actuators while they're in there.
