Yeah, drivers side heat sucks. There is a thread on this topic somewhere here where guys tried modding vents, etc. I just crank it up until it's warm

Yup, its about as effective as an asthmatic 12 year old.

Super sucks, but "working as designed."

I've got the same. If I put my hand by the driver side floor went I feel very little air flow compared to the passenger side. Seems to be a common /universal problem. For what it's worth my 2013 Ford Escape had the same problem. Not sure if it is simply a design issue or if other factors are involved that determine where air gets routed within the vehicle.

My observation is the same yours. Never had a Ford with such lackluster performance from the heater. Not enough to make me get rid of it but it is a minor annoyance. Same with the A/C very difficult to get the right combination. Hope the new model will address these issues

Are there any tricks to getting better heat down to the floor I do have the automatic climate control, but my feet are always freezing any suggestions?

LOL, I hear this from my wife everytime we get in the truck. She just brings a small throw to cover her legs, but I don't think that would work too well on the driver's side.

I would say that possibly clean the Humidity Temp Sensor and see if that makes a difference.
and hook to a scanner and drive the temps (both sides) to HI
You should see results like this - my floor heat (will make your feet sweat) even with it set to 72 deg

So, either the Temp blend door is not fully opening (0%) or you have a duct not secured or one of the temp sensors is askew.
I know the system is capable of putting out some heat, granted this screenshot is taken with the truck sitting idle, so there is not ram air being introduced by the Air Inlet door, which even when closed it is still open 10%

The humidity temp sensor is located by your right knee, if it is dirty (dust) it may be throwing the average cabin temp off.

Now the airflow when in (Bi-Level) is rather low flow at the feet, but it should be HOT, the reason is the system design (OVERALL) Cabin Temp measured by the Humidity Temp Sensor, passenger side airflow pushes around the cab to the driver's side.
