So I just got my TM 4wd switch in, Installed, and enabled the selectable drive option in forscan. When I push the TM button, the menu comes up on the display like it should, but I can't use the arrows on the steering wheel controls to change the selection, or even push ok. The menu just sits there for a few seconds, and then goes away.
Any ideas?
Does the truck need to be running? It was sitting in my garages while trying this, not running, key on, in neutral, and 4lo.

Ignore me, I’m not paying attention clearly.

Ford is going to wonder why they are selling so many switches once TC can be cracked. The FX4 TM switch is pretty nice looking the one i got has the dark gray trim on the bottom looked a bit nicer than the regular switch

Thank you! For some reason I feel like I'd tried that before, but just did again and it works. Also, interesting that going to 'normal' automatically shifts you back into 2wd. Not sure I like that, but ok. Very excited to test out this traction control though

The owners manual has this, thats why it shifts back to 2WD

Using the Terrain Management System

The terrain management system optimizes drivability and comfort by maximizing traction when operating on different types of terrain.

Press the TM button on the center console to choose between the following modes:
Note: Changing terrain modes could automatically change your 4X4 setting for optimal performance.
Note: This is the default when you switch on your vehicle and whenever you select 4x2 via the four-wheel drive control.
Note: Make sure you switch traction control back on when you regain traction.
Missing Image
Sand - For off-road conditions. Select this mode in soft dry sand or deep gravel. If crossing wet sand that could be sufficiently deep enough for the wheels to sink into the surface, select Mud/Ruts mode.
Note: The Grass/Gravel/Snow, Sand and Mud/Ruts modes are for off-road use only.
Note: The curve control portion of the AdvanceTrac® system is unavailable when you select Sand or Mud/Ruts. If the system becomes inoperable, selecting some modes may not be possible and a message displays. If it becomes inoperable due to a system fault, all of the mode indicators on the control turn off and one of the following messages appears in the information display:
TERRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FAULT
Switching the engine on and off may clear the fault. If that does not work, have the system serviced by an authorized dealer.
MODE CHANGE NOT ACCEPTED, RETRY
This mode change cannot be made at the time of your request. Try the mode change again.
Off-road Screen
You can continuously monitor the real-time status of your vehicle's off-road systems using the information display.
Note: Operating your vehicle in any of the off-road modes does not guarantee that it cannot become stuck in sand, snow or mud or other debris. It is your responsibility to assess off-road situations and determine if the terrain is passable.

You have to push the TM button to cycle between modes. First press the button to bring the menu up, the press it again to change modes.

Is anyone looking at the spreadsheet?
If so, I've updated it again, this time adding a 500a non-FX4, locker Lariat (thanks Chris). Patterns are becoming easier to spot....I've highlighted PIDs that differ between FX4 and non-FX4 vehicles. In fact 4 PIDs look quite promising as they are distinctly one value for FX4 vehicles and another value for non-FX4 vehicles.

Here are the PIDs I think are worth changing to see if TC can be activated:
760-02-01
760-02-02
7E0-163-02
7E0-163-04

Possible:
720-06-01
720-10-01

Hopefully someone will try changing these and report success :)

(Passes Trail Control Crown)

Good work. I'm still hopeful that this can be figured out.

There are still a lot of unknowns in the PCM area but the 4 Pids that change between FX4 and non-FX4 vehicles has me hopeful as well.

There are several IPC pids whose name implies some relevancy but I could not enable them as the configuration didn't allow the change. But I wonder if that would be allowed if the 4 Pids are set for FX4 vehicles.

I just now Installed the the new TM switch and enabled Selectable Drive and now Trail Management works (as expected). With luck we'll get TC working too!

Saeb is looking for someone who has changed the ATCM (which is surprisingly enough the actual name for the 4x4 knob) to pull their ABT file.

Preferably someone with a more "base model" truck and ideally an XL.

Thanks,
Chance

Catching up here but I have a completely bare bones XL that could fit the bill - only option is the locking rear diff - got the TM knob in the mail yesterday. Is there a spot I can post my as built file that would be helpful?

Guys I connect my ELM and open Forscan and this is what I get:

I've looked through all these modules and have not seen the terrain management system on off function. Where is it located? What am I missing? Sorry but I've looked high and low.
