I am considering buying a 24, or maybe 25 ranger xlt.
I'm on the fence regarding the Tech package, Adaptive Cruise, additional drivers assist features. Considering xlt with all the goodies or low end xlt obviously depending on availability n price also.
Or maybe xl instead.
I'm a older driver, so I would really like some of these features. I'm curious how many 5g owners have had major electronic ,or sensor related issues. Major addition upkeep/repair cost related to these options.
I know this is a broad question. 5g. vs 6g has been around since 2019. Some features newer. I thought I might get some ideas from 5g owners.. Thanks

Major? No, not much chatter on here about major electronic issues - a bit of talk about minor glitches here and there - a lot due to Sync updates from Ford that were easily resolved. Maybe a few CarPlay issues but not widespread across all owners.

I don’t have the electronics package but my 5G certainly has a lot of electronics and computer controlled EVERYTHING without the full package. Still, no issues to date.

There is an electronics section you might want to check out for more info…

FWIW, I have a pretty much fully loaded 2019 Lariat - I've had zero electronic/computer issues. The only odd thing I have (which was caused by a Sync update) is the computer voice freezes for a bit periodically - she will continue talking at some point but will just freeze for a couple seconds. I don't use the nav much - if I need Nav I usually use my phone.

2019 here and zero issues.

I just recently replaced the egr dpfe sensor and it improved the drive quite a bit, it wasn't terrible, and not major by any means, but I could tell there was improvement.

No tech related issues whatsoever. In fact it all works well. I've had the truck 5.5 years and thinking I should keep it for 10 years which is a tough thing for me. I like it so much that if I did get something else it would probably be an explorer lol.

No tech issues here. Maybe 3 times in almost 5 years the Sync screen has gone blank after hitting a bump (possibly something loose?) and I have to restart the truck and it comes right back on.

Nope no issues here. Just sync issues with stupid updates but far and in between. About twice. Owned a 2020 ranger and have a 2022 ranger xlt fx2

Both my Rangers were fully loaded and I never had any technical issues with either. The only technical issue I has was the previous version of Sync that was corrupted but that had nothing to do with the truck. But like the unpredictable transmission I think it can be hit or miss and some will have issues while most others don't.

I have a '21 XLT Sport 4WD with 302A, Tech, and Tow packages. This is my daily driver.
I've had no tech glitches that I can remember. Truck has power heated front seats which work perfectly. Power folding mirrors, adaptive cruise, and more other tech and safety nannies that I mostly don't use. The proximity sensors in the front and rear work well for me. Rear camera works fine. Blind spot warning sensor works very well too.
I'm very happy with all my tech stuff on my XLT, and the dash is far superior to the Lariat dash, in my humble opinion.

Hope that's helpful.

I have all these same options on my 2019 XLT and never had any issues with any of the electronics.

I have to agree. my two-year-old Lariat has a lot of Electronics. They work flawlessly and keep me out of accidents. I was surprised I didn't see more of a bump in my insurance rates, but I guess they're still figuring that out.

Now in my humble opinion are back to saying that I want hand crank windows because power windows have motors and switches that might fail?

Me, the old manager killed that concept over twenty years ago when the youngens said that out loud, as it applied to our modification to an F16 fighter.

Aside from the mouse/rat problem chewing up wires, I think I've seen more electrical problems on the 6G Forum than here.

Ironic note: When I bought my '21, the dealer suggested an ESP, not for engine and drive train,
but for potential electronic issues. Boy was he wrong.
