Final update: 13 days after bringing it to the dealership I finally got my Ranger back today after needing to go and get a rental car thru Hertz (I got to drive around one of the Ford Edge SUV things for 4 days).
The dealership did the TSB 24-2101 repair order which my advisor told me was quoted to be $12,000 after parts and labor all said and done, luckily it was all covered under warranty. For anyone reading this or considering a Ford product make sure you purchase the extended warranty coverage. I'll start to do all of my regular driving routes again tomorrow and fingers crossed the issue is solved.
They also found another oil leak, this time coming from the rear engine crankshaft seal. Also repaired under warranty.
The next time the transmission acts up I'm having the truck towed and left on their lot.

For that price it'd better be a brand new transmission, full detail and fluid changes for life.
