Cap off/seal the cab vents in the rear and it will blow your mind how hard it is to slam the doors. Assuming the rest of the door are closed and windows closed.

I assume you're talking about the ones under the seats. What did you use to do this? Tape?Cap off/seal the cab vents in the rear and it will blow your mind how hard it is to slam the doors. Assuming the rest of the door are closed and windows closed.
They are behind the rear seats. Just look at the back of the cab if you google cab and chassis pickup.I assume you're talking about the ones under the seats. What did you use to do this? Tape?
Can use hamburgers as a door cushion...cheeseburgers work better.?
When I moved out here one of my friends turned me on to those. I never eat fast food but these I'll make an exception for!Animal Style Doubles from In and Out. Ditch the fries...
In my forum travels over the years, I've read that blocking those cab vents might not be a very good idea - air bags. I hope they are never needed but when they are, the displaced air needs to go somewhere real fast and that's out those cab vents....Cap off/seal the cab vents in the rear and it will blow your mind how hard it is to slam the doors. There's a number of reasons to not block those vents, airbags being the most severe. HVAC being one of the more mild and everyday reasons. Any air you pump into the cab needs to displace/replace the air already there. So the HVAC system will have to work that much harder to essentially compress the cabin air and create a positive pressure state inside, possibly prematurely burning out the blowers in the process. In my forum travels over the years, I've read that blocking those cab vents might not be a very good idea - air bags. I recently moved, and after having an In-N-Out on practically every street corner, I now have to drive 3 hours to get to one. Ugh!Bacon...Don't forget the bacon! lol

First off, I was just jokin around. Just thought I should point it out. There's a number of reasons to not block those vents, airbags being the most severe. Did you happen to start a thread on this, or take pictures? I'd be interested in this mod.I put dynamat in my doors. They still get slammed by everyone who rides with me but the "thud" is a much more pleasing tone now.

There won't be enough pressure build up from the displaced air of an airbag to blow anything out.i dont think you were joking around, i think you re-thought your comments after the backlash.
about the airbag though, nope, the airbag wont be held back in any way, it's an explosion thats going to do what its meant to do. if the vents are plugged, then the secondary damage occurs from that rapid explosion...such as other windows blowing out from the pressure wave....now who cares right?...your air bag already deployed, your cars fucked up anyways....but your ears....can you handle them blowing out?nope....i dont want to take the chance.
those vents are NOT there solely to make it easier to close the doors
I don't think I took any pictures. I think I got most of my info from this thread. And I used the Noico asphalt stuff. Cover everything you can see for best results. I did a little more than Andy's third pic.Did you happen to start a thread on this, or take pictures? I'd be interested in this mod.
