Sync3 Issues

I have "chatted" twice now with Ford CRC with no real success other than documenting the issue to my account. May not be a bad thing for many here to go to Ford's site and document a chat session regarding this problem. I think the increased frequency may still be ignored, but will add to their issues tracking. I may do this again as I am now also having issues with the bluetooth connections.

One question I do have since I worked with computers most of my life, is there a way to roll back a version on Sync? I doubt there is as I looked and saw nothing in settings.

Once this is fixed I will not allow updates anymore but that may not help as the developer can still sneak updates in.

Ford will tell you no, but it is possible to roll back if you have the old download files. I have done it when they broke features with a particular update. I have wifi updates turned off and always use the USB update method.

Also, I do not use the Cyan Labs process, but you can check there to see if they let you download older versions.

Mine was back again for the third time...never had issues until the last update.Parts on order so we'll see if this works this time

New glitch added to my previous ones - On Saturday I used Navigation and got to my destination, pressed “close” as usual.

Made the trip home with no nav as I knew where to go from there. About a 20 minute highway drive. No new issues.

Sunday morning, gotta make a run to the grocery store and when I started it up, Sync started up resuming the nav directions to the place I went to on Saturday.

It’s there everyday since. Now I also have to cancel that as part of the startup checklist.

Sitting at my Ford dealer this morning for maintenance. I mentioned the sync3 issues and they confirmed it was a software update that caused this. The fix is being worked on was what they told me.

Just curious if all of you having this issue have automatic updates over wifi turned on. There was that short time period where Ford had a bogus update posted and maybe that is the issue.

I had auto update on. Once this is fixed it will be turned off.

For 40 years I wrote software. Sometimes when you fix a problem and don’t test correctly the change creates problems like this. Doesn’t happen often but it does happen.

You're not alone. Just do as I do and never update it and you'll be safe. lol

since you lost MP1, I may have the oldest sync build still running with only a few snafus to date. nothing like what all of you are experiencing

The dealer had my vehicle all morning trying to figure out what is going on. Nothing they did changed a thing so they sent it to the next higher level and will call me to come back in when they have an answer to this problem.

You just ended up updating the whole truck.

well i dropped mine off today wish me luck they can fix it. I have the ford logo popping up and start. the reverse cam but no truck in the upper left corner. i can hear am radio but screen is black so cant change anything. if i plug my phone in it will play pandora from my phone and make calls. all with black screen.
