Sync 3 navigation in my 2019 ranger stopped keeping history. Any ideas how to fix it ?

Need to wait until the 'bug-free' update is released that will supposedly fix the issues.
I spoke with Ford earlier this week.
Estimated release is the end of September.

Sync 3 navigation in my 2019 ranger stopped keeping history. Any ideas how to fix it ?
I would perform a master reset. It will clear out and history you do have but will also fix many issues that all of a sudden appear.

I just bought the map 5-year updates as the voice navigation quit working and I was told to update the maps...seems like that is BS but I needed the ability to tell my truck where to go.

Forest, there is a long and helpful discussion under "Sync3 Issues" you need to check out. The short version is that the software update that come out a few months back was F-up by Ford, and that version (3.4.22251) will eventually stop allowing the radio to function normally because it is not clearing its short term memory.
The symptoms most folks were having include the unit loosing its memory when you shut the car off. When it is turned on, it goes to AM, the Bluetooth connection has been forgotten, and driving route being reset. You then must spend a minute or three resetting everything, every time you start up. Others reported different issues, like yours.
An outside group called "CyanLabs" has a method which allows the radio to be rolled back to an earlier, stable, version, and this has worked well for me.
Only in the last two weeks did Ford own up to a fault here, so a permanent solution might be on its way.

I don’t get it… why does Ford NOT make the updates available to everyone? Do they really push them out regionally, and in diff time waves?
Just logged in… says my ‘23 is current with 3.4.21194

I called the helpline because I have a 2020, purchased new in spring of 2021 and I would have thought I should have gotten 3 years of maps. Nope, they said 2 years.

I may wait until later this year to buy a 5 year subscription, just in case the release of maps 5 years from now get delayed.

Would it be so hard for them to give you 2 updates, instead of 2 years? or 5 updates instead of 5 years? :explode:

I checked the web site and I was saddened to see this! Your SYNC update must be completed at a Ford Dealership. Please contact your Ford Dealer to schedule an appointment. Charges may apply.

I popped into Ford chat and this is what they told me....

"With the current version 3.4.22251 there is a current known malfunction with this update that our engineers are working to resolve."

When asked if it would be available for me to download at some point ( I do not want to pay the dealer for something I can do) they replied.....

"Yes. Our Ford engineers are aware of these issues and are diligently working on an update to fix them. They are currently testing the update to make sure once it's rolled out to all affected customers, it will fully resolve the problems. Update should be available by the end of September, if not sooner, and notification will be sent to your Fordpass app, and the email attached to your owner.ford.com account."

I hope that she is correct.

Just go to Cyanlabs and down load 3.4.23188. Their updater software that you install on your PC will down load the update, format your USB drive and copy the files to the USB.

I had 3.4.22251 and went to 3.4.23088 with Cyanlabs. I just went to 3.4.23188 down loading from the Ford site.

Have you tried another browser or cleared your cache? Just curious if it’s possible that maybe you are looking at a cached response of the website.

I recently had my 19 ranger service and asked about syn3 not keeping my navigation history. Service told me they were getting communication from Ford that says they are working on it.
