It definitely happens. Many years ago when I was still in High School, I worked at a local Ford dealership in the Service Department. One of my many jobs was to check in the new vehicles off of the transport trucks. I sent many to the body shop, glass contractor and upholstery shop....
My husband works at the dealer so when it arrived off the truck they did the pdi and noticed the damaged. It’s forsure damage straight from factory , maybe some in transit like the bumper.
I am guessing $46K give or take, at least the last time I was doing that online configuration thing, like 3 months ago.My Lariat listed for $43,500 and change. Received my lariat tremor and I have a list of problems already. Hope this doesn’t cause further issues down the road after it’s fixed but apparently this is a normal amount of damage coming in from factory lately. Considering the price of things, I assumed it would have been taken care of alittle better lol
-front bumper warped on passenger side and had a scuff.
-front drivers fender has a dent outwards.
-front drivers door has what looks like paint blemish on body line.
-tailgate paint blemish that looks pitted.
-passenger rear fender under taillight has paint over spray.
-passenger tremor seat on leather has a small prick/cut in fabric.
-tailgate handle not flush (I’m being picky but it bothers me on top of not being white to match rest of handles lol)
maybe I’m just being extremely picky With everything but still makes me wonder how many owners don’t even look or do a walk around of their vehicles lol

Im told this is nothing compared to other vehicles that come in. Ridiculous actually for any vehicle. They’re a lot of money, they should be coming in from factory better.
wow, id be really bummed if i get that news. I did bring it in ASAP after i picked the truck up and started waxing it. I was told to do it quickly as they will blame rock chips. I am only concerned about the bubbling as it will no doubt get worse for us in the next year or 2.
I have the same concerns about further down the road and what will happen but I guess only time will tell.
funny u say that, i called them 15 minutes ago and they were trying to make the decision of replacing the whole tailgate or just fixing it. fingers cross that they will just replace the whole tail gate. I'll make them replace my lettering and badge covers as well lol
i believe my tailgate is getting repainted but luckily I have nothing on the back that I’ve added extra. I’m waiting till everything is fixed before adding stuff where it needs fixing.
