Nor do the non damper owners need a support group as we are strong and capable, both physically and mentally. I'm afraid those with the dampers need the security of a support group. I plan to go damperless till the end.
Even better I put a shock on mine. Takes 500lbs of force to close it and it opens at 200 mph. As it should be for a real man's truck.

zero need or want for one.
it doesnt even qualify as a "mod" since its such a cheap add on.
its along the level of floor mats.
who calls floor mats mods??
Boomers, and half the build threads on here?

at the price some companies want for floor mats, I would consider it a mod. WeatherTech is well over $100, so yeah for the price, I will accept floor mats a mod. Now if they went to Walmart and bought the $2 set in the Automotive section, no that is not a mod.

Installed one works great however now it is making a faint creepy sound when the tail gate lowers . IT IS ALIVE AND MOCKING ME !
I think it's telling you to add another on the right side. lol

Just spray the tailgate bushing with some silicone or grease it. Dust/dirt get in there and it starts creaking like my knees.

I was walking up to the ranger today carrying a heavyish box an I thought "if I had a damper on the tailgate I could just pull the handle with one hand an step back.

Instead I did the manly thing an held the box on my thigh with one arm an lowered the tailgate with the other.

Getting one is in the back of my mind but I'm still holding out.
