Agreed. If I had an exposed damper, then I would be horrified with shame and embarrassment. ?

Since this thread is already off the rails
I think DeeZee should rename their dampers to DeeRailers. Almost every thread is hit with a Damper Theory/opinion of some sort.

I think you probably don't have to worry about the damper causing any of that, you obviously haven't seen the forum restroom wall scribes handy work yet...

When I ordered my truck I had the dealer do some work before I got it. One thing they mentioned they would look at price and availability was the TGD. I said sure, let me know.

Skip ahead a few days, I was still employed and had a 2021 Ram out one night, which we had to load some crap into. I get around the back, pop it open and was awestruck by the slow dance of the tailgate as it came down. For a moment I was in love, but in the following seconds that honeymoon ended and I was annoyed standing out in the cold, watching the tailgate be "helpful".

The Service manger texts me a photo a few days later quoting $182 for the TGD? I said no, because after one use, I knew it was not for me. When I noticed the price I took a closer look.
