Added one a few months ago. The OBDII connector can be a pain to get out (YMMV). Just be aware that the range is limited to that of your key fob. If I am inside I'll use Ford Pass (if it is working) to remote start. If I am walking to my truck, I usually have my keys in my hand and will start it that way.

Installed one in my father's fusion, works great. 10 minute job, just no room for your hands in so I busted up my knuckles pretty good, don't know if there is more room in the ranger.

Are you able to set the timer on how long it stays on? I just ordered one.
Truck is on its own timer with any of the remote starts. I believe you can change the duration in dash settings iirc

Push down on the tab and pull back. The tab is at the top of that connector.

What year is your ranger? I'm wondering if the 2021 is different. Because I have been trying it and I'm not finding any tab to pull.

Mine is a 2021. I have to double check but mine came out super easy, I’m pretty sure I pressed down on a tab on top.

I'll give it another shot but I'm about to return it. Is the tab in front or behind?

IIRC there should be two bolts holding the plastic housing for the ODB port in. If you take those off the whole black piece will come out and it'll be easier to get to the ODB port once it's down.
