There are easier, cheaper ways to eliminate AS/S. Plug in a cheap night light or old useless phone charger with the cord cut off into the AC outlet. Done, and easily reversible.

I found an even easier way than that.

1. Start truck.
2. Press button to turn off ASS.
3. Proceed with drive.

Some people want a more OEM solution, but having something draw power from the outlet will disable the AS/S.

It only draws power for a few minutes after shut off, but I understand.

I just pried up on the plastic switch panel up near the center armrest area. I didn't remove any other panels.

That is the same way I did mine. Only I didn't pull my panel all the way off. But then again, I'm not an FX4

Just to get this out there for maybe new to them Ranger owners, Tow/Haul and Sport mode disables auto off function automatically. I basically drive in T/H mode all the time because it doesn't skip gears and disables the function.

An easier solution... lift the hood unplug the sensor cable on the neg battery terminal. Close the hood and forget about it.

I found that unplugging both of the 6-switch FX4 connectors on the panel gave me just enough room to fit my hand in there. You only need to unplug one for the eliminator, but that helped.
