Those are nice looking pumps.
They're fast and quiet. I got the EVC88P with digital auto shut-off. They only come with battery clips because of the higher amp draw. It's got a 16ft air hose and 10ft power cord. Love it!

I bought a Viair back in 2019 when they had a one day flash sale for $50.00. I use it all the time and while it's not the fastest pump it's good enough for airing back up when off road and quick fills throughout the year. It'll take me more time to get the pumpkin compressor out and wait for it to fill than it does using the Viair. Plus it's compact and I can store it behind the rear seat and it just fits/closes. I also have a small plug kit that's under the rear seat.

I went from 265/65r18 to 265/70r18, and bought an OEM wheel to accommodate the larger tire size for the spare. Now I do a 5-tire rotation. This size still fits under the bed.

Just for information's sake: 285/75r17 fits in the stock location.

I have one of those plug kits you recommended and I gotta say, it works great!

Main use case is 2WD road driving for 80% of the year. I do make camping trips out into Utah with friends though every few months/couple times a year
I have 2 sets of wheels and tires... summer & winter... (275/55R20 & 275/60R18 on OEM rims, respectively) 5 in each set. They fit perfectly in the spare tire location. My driving is much as yours is.

I swap them as close to May 1st & Nov 1st as possible including the spare.

Given the size of the OEM spare such a miss-match, IMO, would be a problem a 4x4 for any length of time. 2x4, as long as on the front axles not so much.

And as others have said, carry a patch kit... but depending the type, remember to refresh the cement every couple years...

I upgraded the OEM tires to a larger-diameter tire (265/60R18 -> 275/65R18, 30.5" -> 32.1") and wondering what people usually do with the spare tire. The spare tire actually seems to be R17 as well which I wasn't aware of.

I'm wondering, do I upgrade the spare tire to better reflect my new tire size? Would it be a complete replica size of my new tires (275/65R18) or something slightly smaller (like the current size difference with the OEM spare)? Do people know what will fit in the spare tire holder?
I would personally upsize the spare so it’s the same size as the other 4 tires, or as close as possible. Really depends on what you do with your truck though. I got a flat once on a trail after a sharp rock punctured my sidewall. I was kicking myself for not having a spare that was the same size. Had to limp back home and take it to a tire shop the next day to replace the one damaged tire and get a matching spare.

If you live in town (close to tire shops) and mostly drive on paved roads, I’d say it’s probably not as big of a concern. I live an hour outside of town in the foothills and frequently take my truck on trails to get to fishing/camping spots.

I have 33” tires on my truck and the spare fits fine. As far as the spare wheel goes, I guess it depends if you’re running stock or aftermarket? I’m running offset aftermarket wheels so I ordered an extra wheel, that way the spare is an exact match to what the other 4 tires are.

I don’t know if offset is as big of a concern, but I know that running two different size tires isn’t great for the differential. For me, it’s more of a peace of mind thing. I know if I have a blowout, I can put the spare on and keep going like nothing happened.

If you drive mostly on-road, don't worry about it. Just don't switch on the rear locker if your truck has one if the spare tire is on the rear. You're only going to use it temporarily.
If you off-road a lot that's different because you don't want to be in the middle of nowhere with a flat and have to use the all-season spare.
My truck has 17" wheels but the spare is a 16" with a 255/70-16. At some point I may replace it with a 265/75-16 when it ages out if I still have the truck but I'm not worried about it. I upsized to 265/70-17's on the road wheels. People have said you can fit up to a 33" in the stock location.
