Technically, the head is supposed to face the rear. Google ram air hoods and you'll understand that air is actually sucked in better with that facing. Also, it helps with aerodynamics of the head.Re: the AutoCraze snorkel, isn't that facing the wrong way? I don't know a whole lot about them, but my understanding was that snorkels are supposed to (in part) act as an air intake, but could theirs do that when the opening is facing towards the rear? Was that more cosmetic than functional?

I googled as you suggested, and I'm still not clear how that works. From what I understood, there are basically three types: Ram Air Hoods, "Shaker" Hoods, and Cowls, with only the Cowls being rear-facing, and dependent on the windshield to create pressure to "bounce back" the air down the cowl. Not really seeing how this would work for a snorkel, though. I may go down this rabbit hole a little later, but seeing as I ask more out of curiosity than intent to actually put in a snorkel, the "honey-do" list trumps the rabbit hole for right now.Technically, the head is supposed to face the rear.
