Wouldn’t be so bad if our upstairs A/C didn’t die on us yesterday. Brought out our meat thermometer to my daughter’s room…90.7°

That’s right, it’s hotter inside our house at night, than it is in many of your places in the day!!

93 with 65% humidity and zero wind.

I am working on leveling out the crusher run today and I can't go too long before I have to get out of the sun and cool off.

Ouch!
To me, that job is what they make tractors with a front end bucket, or a 'bobcat' for.
Good luck to you sir, it may not LOOK like it, but That's A LOT of work!

About 10,000 pounds of crusher run and while I did have a dump trailer to put a couple of piles spread out still had to move a lot by hand

We were forecast for 100F/37.7C and when I woke up this morning there was not a single patch of fog nor a cloud in the sky.

But it's 2pm now and we're only at 88F/31.1C. A quick peek at the fire cam up on Mount Tamalpais a bit to the south shows why. That reminds me, I haven't taken my new Ranger up into the mountains yet!

5pm update: It's 100F/37.7C, as forecast. It stayed comfortable up until 40 minutes ago and then we gained 6 degrees like THAT.

@OFC Ranger Seriously a bobcat for what you want to do in a few hours it would be done and pitched properly and well matted/pressed. This place is in Georgia

Hot and humid that past few days, but a cold front moved through with storms yesterday and today it's clear a beautiful, around 80. I was in the house working most of the day though ?

Meh I just found out other day that Home Depot has things like this for rent now. $269 daily and it comes with a trailer.

When I go to put in the new driveway to connect the back to the front you can guess who is going to rent one. This guy...

With that said I needed the exercise. Would have been much more enjoyable exercise in the winter... @Trigganometry

Couple of low spots. Got back from the old Homer Depot with some paver base bags to even them out.

Picture makes it look odd and wavy. The back and front are level with a couple of spots about 1/4 to 1/2 inch out of wack at worst. Im done fooling with the leveling right now. Need to finish the wall and work on the drainage.

Is that cement stone or something else? If cement stone you wet it and roll it will compact hard. Poor mans roller is 5/8 4X4 panel of plywood and drive over after wetting and raking out.

Crusher run, I should have just went with a smaller range of crushed rock.

Was dirt cheap though. Rock quarry 1 mile from my house, was only running me $36 per 1.5 ton.

I will probably go back after the garage is installed and put a small 1/2" top layer of a fine crush mix just for the sake of making it look better.

I do plan to do the poor mans leveler and use a couple of ratchet straps attached to an old shadowbox fence panel section in my junk wood pile, toss a bunch of paver blocks on it to really weigh it down and then strap it to my waist. Human mule. :)

But I'm done with the rake and shovel on that shit. lol

Ya but think about all you saved not going to the gym. ? By the way, nice job on that so far. That’s a ton of work. Are you going to anchor the cover? We did a few like yours and post hole dug and poured cement with steel loops to fasten to. Threaded Rod works. They go airborne if you get some good wind storms

Just rebar anchors for now in the frame. We don't get high winds and I live in a bowl in my neighbor which negates wind even more.

Ill splurge on some mobile home augers at some point.
