Yes you can but it doesn't clear completely. You can only get the lid halfway up.

I really like mine. Use it on the passenger side. Hold air compressor tiedowns level, some tools, only time it gets in the way is when i put in 4x8s (2024 ranger 4x8s lie flat) or when i have my tonueau cover on. It does get beat up when logs or brick are in the bed

I have them on both sides and have been very happy with them. I guess the best thing about them is that you can store "small" items in them without just letting them roll around the bed. I keep my tire inflator...a small tool kit for my camper...tie down straps, etc. in them and it is a great way to "organize" the pickup bed without going to a large storage box.

Bought my GFs dad one few years back for his Colorado.
Turned out to be trash. Of course he used his for work daily.
It’s a great idea, overall.
An aluminum option, light steel, or even heavier plastic would be great.

Just so I understand this. You can't swing it outward with a tonneau cover on and then open it up when it's over the tailgate. I assumed I have a tonneau cover and I could just swing it out to open the top access stuff is this not true?
In the pictures I’ve seen, because of the hinges and mounting plate, it looks like part of the case remains in the bed of the truck when swung out - enough that the lid would interfere with a tonneau.

Can anyone confirm if these swing out a full 180° so they are pointing straight back? And if so, do they completely clear the bed of the truck or is the lid still going to be restricted by a tonneau?

I have the drivers side box, and I like it. I store my hitch, ratchet straps, etc. My biggest beef is that it blocks the tie down loop, but I can live with it.

I have one on the passenger side. It’s handy to store seldom used stuff in, but I find that it’s often in the way when tying things down. I probably wouldn’t buy it again.
