Does anyone use them, if so are they worth the effort and price?

For me, yes. Holds just enough of what I tend to use.
Rarely gets in the way, but I only have one on drivers side.
Sometimes you can catch one or two for sale on here.

i have a drivers side one that I used to keep my compressor and some tools in, worked great for me and was nice that it locked. The instal was very little effort. I just got a Decked drawer system so I took it out and will probably put it up for sale soon.

I have both in mine. I carry the tools for changing tires, some bungy cords, ratchet straps, spare clips for my WDH, flashlight and a few other miscellaneous items. They Work good to use a tough space to pack stuff in. They are a it tough to get into if you can't swing them out. They do lift out quickly if you need the space for other things.

I have one on each side. I wish there were latches on each end instead of one in the middle. The ends on mine curl up. No issue with water getting in, I just would like to have a better seal. I used my ford points I got when I bought the truck.

I have a swing out one on the driver's side. Use it to store my ratchet straps and tie downs. Install was a PITA becuase I had to dig the bed liner out of all the mounting holes! 🤣

I have one on the passenger side. I think it’s worth it. If I see a driver side one for under $150, I’ll probably snag it.
I keep my straps, sockets, work gloves, some basic tools, etc in it. Worth it since we have limited under back seat storage.

I have one on each side of the bed. They’re cool and hold what I need them to BUT they can be a hassle if you have a bed cover or keep anything in the bed when you need access to them. I don’t have to get into them often so it’s not a big deal for me but when I do, it’s a process… Have to unroll the tonneau cover, pull out anything that’s in the bed, get what I need, then put everything back.

You also can’t keep much weight in them. The hinges are plastic and over time, mine have started to sag a bit. When closing them, I have to lift up on the box itself and slam it shut or they won’t shut. The locks work but being plastic, I wouldn’t keep anything too valuable in them. I’m sure it would only take someone a few seconds to pry them open if they wanted to.

It probably depends more on what you’re going to use them for and how often. I’ll keep them on the ranger since I’m used to my setup but I probably wouldn’t buy them again for my next truck.

Just so I understand this. You can't swing it outward with a tonneau cover on and then open it up when it's over the tailgate. I assumed I have a tonneau cover and I could just swing it out to open the top access stuff is this not true?
