Well I'll sheepishly admit that it took me 5 yrs to replace the OEM FX4 rear shocks, the catalyst was when I started towing. Was skeptical about people saying the oem shocks are not good but no longer, those oem shocks are way too soft. And yes mine are sitting on the garage floor but they'll get chucked soon. Bought and installed Bilstein 4600 for $84 ea.
Lol, mine are still littering up the garage. Crap as they are, I can't bring myself to chuck them in the trash. I have a bad case of 'I'm gonna hold on to these just in case'.

I have no idea what 'just in case' means, but it definitely means I can't bring myself to chuck them.

I'm a terrible pack rat. Not 'hoarder' level, but I keep way too much stuff. We're going to start clearing out our current house to prepare to move, so I guess I'm trying to break the fever and start letting go of the stuff I don't need. I absolutely hate to throw stuff out and then need it and have to buy it. In this case, I can't see me ever needing FX4 shocks, and I don't see a market to try to sell them. OUT they went.

I can't think of a new first name but he does have a catchy last name which I'd keep. ??

My old FX4 rear shocks, that I replaced when new, hung around in my garage for a while. They finally caught my eye one day... I stared at them for 5 seconds, then walked over and chucked them in the dumpster.
Yeah, for some reason I'm also holding on to my old ones. Like I'll ever put them back on!

Good move Tom, I need to follow your leas on this (and, c'mon, me passing any reason at all for a dump run!). =D

I often save stuff and sometimes can repurpose , but with those shocks I'm not even sure they could cut the mustard installed as giant tailgate dampers but they would look impressive.

Seems like this got off topic. Thank you for your comments on storage options for the old shocks. When I change my shocks I will probably try to find a spot on my bedroom wall to hang them.

I cannot seem to message the guy that did the Toyo bump stops.

Thank you for the help. I will be posting the mods for my truck soon and maybe some videos if a few people like my page.

I did consider installing the FX4 shocks on my bed springs to dampen the rebound action but I don't think they are firm enough to hold their own. Sigh.

hahahahahhahahahahahahaaaaa. That’s so funny.
I am sure my Mom would like that. I am glad to hear you like obese women as much as me. Haha. No wonder we got these trucks that are good for towing.

I have the old leaf springs off my '19 in my garage an I don't even own the ranger any longer. I've seen the posts of them breaking so I held onto them in case someone close by needed them.

Thank you for your storage ideas. I think the others that may have gone to a newer thread to comment about where they store spare parts and other random memes.

The longer you're here and the better you get to know the forum members, the less random the memes are. You'll be aware of the inside jokes and jokesters and stuff will begin to make more sense, sort of.

Keep in mind many of us have been on here and been interacting on and off this forum for years. We have a history and have become friends. Hopefully you'll soon feel a part of the family too. Meanwhile, it's good to develop a thick-ish skin and be prepared for some goofiness that will sometimes be at your expense, but most of the time will be poking fun at long-time running jokes.

Yup, some of us have been here for many years and spend way to much time on here.:bandit:
