Well after a lot of back and forth debating on getting a new truck, I decided to get a 21 Tremor. I've already got an 05 4x4 and my IS300 drift car but I wanted something newer for a daily driver/overland build. I plan to sell the 05 shortly.

I live in CA but I'm originally from Colorado. I had planned to spend the holiday season in Colorado so I started looking for trucks in CO. I reached out to a dealership and put $1000 down to reserve a Cactus Grey Tremor XLT they had in-bound. I started this process about 3 weeks before going to CO for the holidays. After several delays in the truck's arrival I was starting to get worried. When I finally flew home I went straight to the dealer. They told me "your truck should be here before you leave" but that had me a bit worried. They had a RR Lariat Tremor sitting in the show room. After some back and forth they were able to get me into the Lariat for a really good deal and my payment only went up $5 over what the XLT would have been so I pulled the trigger.

Spent December in Colorado enjoying the truck and breaking it in. So far I love this thing. I've already added the infamous damper, Amazon console storage, a bed mat, and the stubby antenna. I've got a Rough Country 20" light bar that I'll install once I receive the ACC relocation bracket from Cali Raised. Also have the 1" level from FRL, smoked side markers, and window tint on the way. Looking at tonneau covers soon.

Did some exploring shortly after taking it home.

My girlfriend came to CO just after Christmas. Took her up to Rocky Mountain National Park on her birthday. First time in the snow for this truck.

Yesterday my girlfriend and I spent New Years Eve road tripping it back to California. The drive was a bit rough. A lot of snow in Colorado and Utah but the truck did fantastic. Early morning in eastern Utah before the snow started dumping on us again.

I've got a set of 17x8.5 +18 wheels that I would like to have put on the stock tires. Anybody know if those will fit after the 1" level without having to replace/remove the crash bars?

I'm on IG if anybody wants to follow along. @danapenningtonphoto is my main account(I'm a photographer for a living) but most of my car/truck stuff is @whoisdp

Too bad you to settle for the red! I like how it looks in the desert.

What dealer did you go through? Your experience sounds very similar to mine with Summit Ford in Silverthorn a few months ago. I was able to wait for the cactus grey one to come in, but the dealer inventory showed “In Transit” for six weeks.

Nice truck! I did something similar to you. I live in SoCal and found a Rapid Red Supercab XLT 4x4 at Longmont Ford in Colorado during April, the second month of Covid lockdowns. They were anxious to move inventory that had been sitting and I negotiated $7K off MSRP. I flew out with my girlfriend to pick it up and took a leisurely three-day drive back home with it.

At first I was a hard no on the red. But after they pulled it out of the showroom and I saw it in the sun I had a change of heart. I still love the way CG looks but the red has really grown on me. If I wouldn't have had a hard date that I had to drive home(work), I probably would have waited but I am super happy. I got mine at Phil Long in Denver.

Nice! What part of SoCal?

Nice truck @OCL . I'm looking forward to getting out to the desert soon. Some friends and I are planning on going to King Of The Hammers. Can't wait to drive this thing more. Going to start a build thread over in the journal section soon. I've been collecting parts. This thing is going to end up costing me just as much as my other project car.

You'll love that Tremor in the desert.

I've seen videos of the KoH. What an event!

I'm kind of a cheapskate when it comes to my truck, because I also have a motorcycling hobby that sucks up a lot of my resources & time. I can't really think of anything else to add on or improve my Tremor. I'm thinking at least a set of off road driving lights. Must use ONE of the 6 switches right? And the Ford Performance tune.

It does indeed looks like it got a level. But no, 100% stock. Here is a profile pic, with an empty bed. You can almost see some front rake to the stance.

Do you miss HB? My wife and I like going there for a short walk along the beach and then lunch in down town HB. It's a nice area if you like crowds and nice cars. We've lived in the OC since High School and although we still like it, we're getting quite weary of the crowds all around SoCal. Part of the reason we spend so much time out in the desert or places far from SoCal. We love Boulder City, NV. We also love Borrego Springs, CA. Another favorite is Morro Bay and Cambria, CA. Notice a pattern here. All places where there are no crowds but has beautiful scenery.

I hear you about the weariness. I've lived in CA for about 9 years now and I'm kind of over it. If it wasn't for my job and my girlfriend's family being out here, I'd probably make a big push to move back to Colorado or someplace new.
