Got a few decals that had come in the mail, as well as some badges I was still pending. Spent the whole day working on the truck adding on a few pieces. Made quite a bit of progress. Here's the end results so far.
Need to redo the Racecraft on the passenger side, as I applied it a bit crooked.
Also need to remove and reinstall the Tailgate spoiler as that is also fugged. That's for another day..
Just got the Allied Expedition grill, Putco lower grill. Need to swap out grills and place badges on that as well.
Got the Smoked Raxiom corner lights on hand.
Also got the Hubcentric rings and tires.
Wheels won't arrive until March 26. Blyat.
I'll try to get the remaining pieces on Sunday.
Got that day off.
Will be converting to all LED lights (front) as well as third brake light later tonight. I know it's been done before and it's nothing new, but I want to upgrade it and make it look a bit more upscale and sportier.
I'll have next Saturday off, so I'll try to place the remaining side decals on then.
I finally got around to installing the tunes I got from Torrie at Unleashed. Got 87 Performance, 91 Daily, and 93 Performance. Got the tunes downloaded on the SCT LiveWire device. Haven't mounted it permanently, as I'm still trying to figure out the best way to route the cable.
I opted to run the 87 Performance for now.
Wow!! What a difference!!
It shifts like it should have from factory.
It holds the RPMs a little longer before shifting to the next gear. Feels like it has more power. Takeoff is much quicker.
It runs like a Ranger should.
And with that MRT sidekick exhaust?
Pure joy to my ears.
I'm not noticing any jerkyness or any harsh shifts of the kind. Feels just like stock, but quicker. And mind you, it's only on 87 Performance. It scoots now. I can only imagine how much better it'll run on the 93 Performance tune.
Gotta thank Doc for the raving reviews he gave out on other threads.
And Torries customer service and response time is unmatched. Answered all my questions and set me up perfectly.
Here's the outcome of the LED swap for the front end, as well as the corner light.
Still waiting on the wheels to really tie up the look.
The time has come.
I finally installed the Saleen graphics, though I need to buy another set and redo them. Note to self. Do NOT install them while having a beer. Or three. It just doesn't help.
My wife actually lent a hand and fixed them as best as she could. Had a lot of bubbles.
Aligning it wasn't an issue. I just used the body lines as reference.
Also put on the wheels, to tie up the look.
Here it is !!
I really wanted a set of KMC prism, but they're discontinued..
These are Vossens HF6-2.
20x9.5 with a +18mm offset, and a bore of 106.1.
I think it ties up the look well. Got lots of compliments at work.and the shop I went to.
Kinda looks like the old school Iroc wheels.
BUT
They poke out of the body just a hair..
I don't like that..
I wanted a flush stance, with maybe a hair just tucked under the fenders.
I ended up getting Aluminum Hubcentric rings to eliminate the gap. Ride feels harsher, and I sense a bit of vibration at 70+ mph.
Maybe that's from running a low profile tire??
No, I don't race, but I do reach higher highway speeds to get to/from work.
As it turns out Vossen makes custom Offsets.
Too bad my vendor never specified that. Now I own a set I don't really like.. due to the poke/stance.
Perhaps in +25, or even +30mm would cure my woes. But that's another set I gotta buy??
Oof.
If anybody has a set of KMC prism wheels they'd like to get rid of or trade, let me know.
I wanted the 20x9 with 30mm offset.
It's their smallest of the prism design.
To be honest, I might go back to the gloss black 18s I had until I can find a set I like with the correct offset and such.
It didn't look too bad, y'know?
It will take.me some months, but I'll end up lowering it 2/4 with the Belltech Coilovers, SPS adjustable control arms, and rear axle flip kit. What shim should I use to maintain the driveline neutral? Anyone know?
So I have some EXCELLENT news.
You see.. there were 3 Brushed Sikver KMC prism wheels. And 1 Satin Black KMC wheels in the same spec. 20x9 with +30mm offset.
If you think I done lost my marbles and bought the 3 Silver ones and the lone black wheel to complete the set and have them repainted to match is what I did, you are ABSOLUTELY correct.
Extra work? Perhaps. But the end result is worth it. The Saleen Ranger must be done properly.
It may take a few months to get here in TX, as they're being shipped to my folks home in FL due to security reasons. (Billing issue).
Then I'm gonna repaint them. Either that one, or all, depending on what my painter can do.
But I am the last person who will ever own the last KMC prism set sold new.
With that being said, is anyone interested in the Vossens I have in the pictures?
They're 20x9.5
With a 106.1mm offset
And +18mm offset
I'll throw in a brand new set of Aluminum hub rings.
Tires will be included.
No TPMS.
Only 200 miles approx. On the setup.
$1100 shipped.
Any takers?
PM me if interested.
This thread is far from over..
Remaining mods are Air Design painted fender vents, lowering kit 2/4 and some light engine mods.
