That kind of looks like the remnants of a stray bird. One reason I loved the pano roof on my last vehicle. They can't etch glass with their acid poop!

I hope I'm wrong and Ford takes care of you.

Good luck!

Being vertically challenged (short) I've got in the habit of checking my roof every couple days. Bird poop will destroy your finish especially here in the baking sun.

Matt, Keeping a good coat of wax will help too and I'd hit your roof and hood with an extra coat for added protection. I love the 303 Graphene and it really has helped out here. Hopefully they take care of this for you. Good luck!

I was going to say the same as both of you

Here it is fellas. Got back to me pretty quick. Anyone else think it is completely ridiculous that paint would do this 1 year into ownership?

Not for anything, I kept my 2015 focus ST in this EXACT SAME PAINT COLOR parked outside in a driveway for 5 years and never had this issue. For the last two years that I've been in my house, the focus was in the same driveway that my ranger is now parked in every single day. Never seen an issue like this before in my life.

Pretty frustrated at this point.

Denial attached.

Looks like Ford agreed.

OP, this sucks, but there is a lesson to be learned here. Wash your truck more, check the roof more.

My vehicles will collect dirt for quite a while sometimes. However, bird shit won't last a day.

Was the claim denied by the dealership or Ford? I would probably push back on that and see where it gets you. Unless you let a bird turd sit on there and fester forever I can’t see that being an issue on paint so new. I honestly think they just don’t want to do the work. Call customer care.

I'm sure Paul @OrangeStreak will find this 2 years from now and comment on it.?

On my ‘19 Ranger I replaced the left roof molding by the windshield due to corrosion under the black paint about a year ago. And 2 months ago noticed the right side was doing the same.So had that replaced 2 wks ago. Now I noticed the left side is corroding again. This is crazy. Anyone having the same issue? I’m in SoCal so it doesn’t rain much.

Mine bakes in the sun here while I'm at work and they both are fine. I do coat them with Graphene which helps protect them and has great UV properties. Make sure you have a good coat of wax or try the Graphene on them and it should take care of the issue.
