my camper isn't heavy enough to push my instantaneous fuel economy that high. the ranger's engine braking is enough to actually slow down on most of the mtn grades that I usually drive.
Those figures are from my Scan Gauge...when the truck is coasting down hill it reads 9999.9, and under heavy load, depending on gear, throttle, grade, it will fluctuate 6 -7-8-9 mpg. Cruising at 65 on an interstate, towing the camper, 10-11 mpg.

Might be the rubber compound. Hankooks are hard, try sticking your fingernail into them... Michelins are a much softer compound... which is really a good thing on ice.

I'm thinking this ^^^^ is the biggest factor in mpg decrease with the Michelins.
...also of note.... the Michelins have a more aggressive tread pattern than the factory Hankooks, so I'd bet they have more rolling resistance

Hmm... The Michelins don't look more aggressive than the Hankook AT M's?

I have the ford performance fox 2.0 kit, the ford performance 91 tune and I am almost exclusively running shell vpower 93. Day to day driving like a masshole on my 20 mile commute I average 22ish mpg, if I baby it on the highway I'll usually be able to get 30-31mpg. Towing my squaredrop camper fully loaded at about 1500-1600lbs I can get 23-24 on open highway if I stay at or below 65 and at 80 I'll get around 21. For thanksgiving I took a road trip with the camper at was almost 1000 miles and my trip average was 22.4.

Ford tune, ford/fox leveling kit - OEM 18 wheels hankook tires 21.6 mpg. 265/70/r17 ko2 with tremor wheels 20.1 mpg. I'm still playing around with the correct psi. I heard / read 32 psi up to 40psi for cold temps. ?

Matthew,
I have the same tires and the ideal ride for me after experimenting is at 36 psi cold. BFG gave me a recommendation range close to this figure. They calculated the weight of the ranger with the tires specs to get their result. I have the pressures checked once a month at Discount and have them to adjust it so they will come out to about 36 psi when cold. The TPMS runs about 2 psi lower that the actual pressures in the tires. Hope this helps :)

Cool, I didn’t know the TPMS runs low! I see we’re at about the same elevation so I’ll give 36 psi a try. Discount tires, when they installed them, put them at 40, called a couple days later the guy said 35. Later I checked with big O tires and one person said 32 and the other 40. The elevation thing throws me off.

Careful about the TPMS comment. All 4 of my sensors run within 0.5psi of 3 different gauges when measuring pressures (and I do it fairly regularly with my offroad adventures). I use TPMS as the initial gauge for airing back up, then using my manual gauges as final since TPMS has a delayed update.

I got some varying figures from local BFG dealers, so I called corporate to get the calculation from them which turned out to be a good estimate. Let us know what psi you come up with that works for you.

Discount usually gets the psi a little higher than 36. If I'm not too lazy I let the tires cool down in the garage and then bring them down to 36 with an accurate gauge to get them as equal as possible.

Yeah, they need ~3 hours to cool down from running to "cold" PSI levels (and should be <1mi in 15 minutes to be classified cold from a cold start). Usually they should be high when at a tire shop. I tend to run mine close to 36 cold, though lately have been closer to 30 and I just need it to stop raining and warm up a bit so I can go air them up some more.
