No way!I am on my third tank of 93 octane (I first did regular then middle grade for a few tanks) and am only getting 17.9 or so mpg. Most of my miles are around town to work which is not very far. Also I am very curious as to how accurate the mileage to empty is on your trucks? It will say 25 miles to empty or 5 miles to empty. Has anyone gone over the 0 miles left mark?
Thanks,
Worst thing you can do for electric fuel pump is to run it low on fuel. I think that the 93 is only burning your money !No way!
The biggest impact to MPG is, 100%, your foot. However, 91 is not about mileage for me, it's about getting advertised power and not losing ~20% because I'm cheap. I'm happy to pay the premium to get all the performance I paid for. I've done it since I purchased my '15 Mustang Ecoboost in 2015.I think that the 93 is only burning your money !
In some of the other threads people stated they got about 1 to 1.5 mpg better. That can be pretty easy happen if the filler nozzle shuts off a little earlier... and now take the pocket calculator ! Your MPG might be 5% - 7.5 % better but you paid 20% more !?!?!? I follow my mpg's pretty close to see how I can get the best out of the truck without slow poking. During my 4050 mile trip I learned a lot !!! Using the +/- buttons of the cruise control to accelerate improves the mpg ! The truck is shifting less ! The same when I hauled the trailer. After filling up and hitting the Interstates / Freeways... I accelerated to the posted speed without hammering the pedal to the floor, and switched the cruise control on. I tried to do everything with the cruise control on just using the +/- buttons. Like that the transmission shifted in tow mode also in the highest gear !
Your MPG is depending on your foot !
Next recession I'll try 91, should be soon, in a few months I would think. The biggest impact to MPG is, 100%, your foot. The Ranger just runs smoother and better on 91 over 87.
Yup. Plus with how quiet and fast these trucks are it saves from the tickets tooNext recession I'll try 91, should be soon, in a few months I would think.
Using cruise control save a lot too.
