It'd be nicer if the US wasn't so darn stubborn and bull-headed and had switched over to metric when we had the chance. Metric is so much nicer and easier to use.

Sorry, but we didn't have time to go around switching everything to metric. We were too busy using imperial to put men on the freakin moon!

In all seriousness though, while I have absolutely no problem using gallons, Fahrenheit, and feet in my regular life, I can't even imagine trying to do my job (I'm a biological scientist) in anything other than metric.

Longer drives help.
More miles on the truck helps.
I usually try and do at least one longer trip for each tank, especially in the winter, just to bring the mileage up and make me feel better about my winter mileage. haha For example, this current tank I was sitting all the way down at 15mpg from the cold and snowy/icy commutes to work this past week, but after a nice long day trip up in the National Forest looking for owls and moose (unfortunately didn't find any this time), I'm sitting at 24mpg for the tank. So it can make a big difference.

Door says 38 so all good.
I'm sure the truck is off but I won't adjust, I saw that thread but I'm not ocd.
I'm a close enough type of guy for most stuff. I like to see how good I can get mpg
on longer drives. With 1000km, cold & winter gas, I'm pretty happy with what I
have now.( I might adjust, maybe, I'll see in spring). I love nature & we bought this truck to go camping once we retire & enjoy the outdoors.

Agreed. I haven't adjusted mine either. Mine's usually within +/-1mpg, which is plenty close enough for what is essentially just reference data. I'm only using my mileage numbers to get an estimate of how well I'm doing, and to play an internal game to eek out the best I can. haha So I don't see the point in adjusting it. Plus, the tolerances on the odometer and fuel pumps cause about a +/-.5mpg or more differential anyways in my opinion.

Ha, same here... the real reason I check is to see if it starts consumming way too much for
no apparent reason, then something is wrong! Did this with all my cars.

We had a little snow today & the wife wanted to use the truck but thought I should go
shovel so the truck won't get stuck. A little snow bank of 2' at the end of the driveway.
I said I'll get in & expalin the 4x4, no need to shovel. So in 4x4 crawling, she says should I go faster, 'no, it's fine' I say, & the truck just goes through the snow like it was'nt even there.
This will be great fun!!!

Did a similar thing last Thanksgiving. We got 24" overnight essentially. Ran out of gas for the snowblower 3/4 of the way through clearing the driveway. Stupid mistake, I know. But with that depth, and the county plow passes on the road, the plow bank at the end of the driveway was up to my chest, hood deep on the truck. So I just put it into regular 4H and drove right through. Snow came rushing up the windshield and my wife said it was like something straight out of a car commercial. haha Only consequences were the parking sensors and grille being packed with snow. haha

Got 26 MPG at 65 MPH on my way to N Atlanta today straight up I-75 when I cranked it up to 75 it went to 25 MPG I can live with that.

I also found another use for the Tow Haul button I hit heavy traffic from Macon GA all the way up to I-85 it wasn't stopping and going but was flowing between 15-45 MPH but the 10-speed wanted to shift as fast as possible into high gears and it was lugging so I just hit the tow haul button and it held the gears a little longer and kept the rpms up a little and made it easier to drive

Using Fuelly to track mine the best I've seen is 24.4. You can see my average in my signature.

Ok someone please explain. According to the truck, I have a lifetime average of 22.4 with my commute back and forth to work usually coming in at 23.8 to 24.4. My first use and comparison with FUELLY stated it was 20.3 on the same route. So there is a discrepancy between the truck and old school math. That was with the 30.6 tall Hankooks. Now I have switched to 32.0 KO2's and I am getting the same numbers from the truck and FUELLY????

Multiple points here.

1) Yes, it's very normal to have a variance between the dash calculations and hand calculations. Some people find closer numbers than others, but it's still an issue overall. 2) If you got new tires, your calculations are "correct" because your mileage is off, unless you adjusted your speedo for the new tire size, the truck doesn't know what tires you're running (outside of stock size) unless you tell it otherwise. This can be done with FORscan (and some tuners - but the ford tuner says only up to 31.5", so FORscan was how I did it for my 32" Falkens.)

Yes, tire size and gearing can be adjusted with the Livernois MyCal tuner.

14.81 MPG on last Fill-up at 652 miles (Majority around town)

I was able to bump it up to 26mpg today. Filled up and hit the road north to go snowshoeing with my brother today. 2hrs of 60mph on rural roads each way through the forest make it easy to cruise to good mileage. Pretty darn good for winter mileage I'd say.

The old post-1973 Oil Embargo 55 mph speed limit existed for a reason. The extra drag between 55 mph and say, 70 is substantial, has a steep curve & can really drop mpg.
