I dont know about that, even with the staggeringly huge reaction score you have, I have you beat in the short term, I eat, sleep and spend my days on dipstick stuff.

Today for example:

I wire transferred $$$$ more money for parts.

I'm proofing a additional script for the stick that says:

MAINTAIN FLUID LEVEL BETWEEN 4-5 CHECK HOT IN PARK

I figured while I'm at it I should mark it with the usual script a stick has.

Then I'm filling up a plugged dipstick hose with 2 part epoxy, installing it, positioning it exactly where I want it, in 24 hours I'll pull it, then make the jig for the heat shrink shaping and the stick length verification fixture.(no truck for a day)

Then I am machining the .028" deep by .195" wide slots in the new script marking fixture that I epoxied the magnets into yesterday.

So today I got you beat, But, I need to get away from this computer and into the garage, C-ya.

Another Sunday afternoon update, got the fixture made for shaping the hose and length verification, I still have to make the stick depth part of it, but I got the hard part done, epoxied the tube so I had the template, then made the rest of it.

The punch plate is for the heat gun airflow, the back wall is the heat deflector, it makes heat shrinking go faster, it's a lot of angles, but I should be able to clamp it down, shrink it, cool it and move on to the next one, I did have to use a printed bracket, so I may have to tweak it a bit when the aluminum ones show (supposed to ship soon)

Getting closer!

Impressive! You've been a busy beaver! Nice Jig. Definable, Repeatable Process!

Outstanding.

And nice 65-66 Mustang

I had to come up with something to shape all the hoses the same, I did not want to try and hand shape them, as well as this way I can insert the stick and set the length.

It's still going to be a lot of hand work, the major one will be machining the top fitting to set the stick length, I just hope the +- 1/4" variance in the hose length is consistent, then I can do a whole batch of fittings vs one by one.

That's just my garage, I was welding and grinding most of the day, I keep the dirty work in there.

Although they are small, I have a machine shop and a build shop that I do most of the work in, I have air conditioning in the build shop?

Thanks on the car compliment, that's my almost daily driver (till the knee gave me trouble) its done up fairly well, full frame car, coilovers etc, engine is back 10" 6 speed, but where it shines, power everything, windows, locks, Navi, backup camera steering wheel radio controls, great A/C, stereo, tilt wheel, all the comforts the other cars in the driveway have. then I can bolt down the 90 lbs of ballast behind the right seat and go run it at the local race track, I built it as a dual purpose car, it's fun.

This is my favorite "hammer the car" pic, had to resort to driving it like a go kart to stay ahead of the much faster Camaro, his 600hp to my 500hp, it let me get away from him before the straight.

You are not hiding anything with that mustang. It is NOT a sleeper! The telltale signs are everywhere to be seen!

It is clean! I like it - a lot!

I've got friends that put LS engines in Miatas and RX7s... and they somehow manage to keep the weight balance. Isn't engineering marvelous.

HEY.....

I need some quick feedback, I am not happy having to take a Q tip and acetone and remove the wording "use Mercon" from the stick handle, it looks shabby, the original print is poor on some sticks as well.

I am about to get a quote on a stamp and solvent resistant ink, I will wipe off all of the original print and reprint something, that's where I'm looking for feedback.

So it's going to be either:

TRANS FLUID with the fluid type called out on the second line.

TRANS FLUID
TYPE ULV

or just:

TRANSMISSION
FLUID

No calling out the type.

I'm not sure if I have a preference, I want to ask here to see if there is a preference.

I have to decide quickly as I need to order the stamp and ink, hopefully the cost is reasonable.

I vote:

TRANS FLUID
TYPE ULV

Simple. Easy. Unambiguous.

Thanks!
