I'm partial to the colored fittings, but the test piece looks so clean!!! Looking forward to the outcome!

I have been looking all over the web for a decently priced dipstick. I actually thought of doing this, but just buying off of you would be much easier and support a fellow enthusiast.

Put me down for one please.

Looks awesome! Wish I hadn't just gone through the headache of changing out pan a month ago! Put me down for one as well! Happy to kick over some funds in advance to help fund!

I'm in if it all works out. I'm in Canada, so hopefully they can be shipped up here. Its hard to find custom parts up here.

Hmm, just a thought. Will the markings on the stick be different for those with the deep pan? Was wanting to swap mine out in the future, just curious

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I don't know how much it is to apply for a patent on this but you might think about it as the sales could really take off. Had a good friend lose out on big bucks for his design on forward controls for the VTX by having his design stolen and outsourced to China.

Nice thought, but not sure patent applies in this case. Patents are to protect an idea not the execusion of a design. The idea of a dipstick is not new. Neither is the use of a flexable tube (reference the B&M assembly).

Unfortunately the best Fitz can really hope for is to enjoy coming up with something, making enough money to cover expenses with a little left over for his time, and earning the eternal gratefulness of his fellow forum members. To do much more would require turning it into an official business under the watchful eye of the IRS.

I am actually starting a LLC, I'm doing it now for the dipsticks, but not just for dipsticks, I also build custom 9000 watt ebikes, the timing on doing it now is for the tax resale number, and the expense write offs.

I think I'm okay on funds, depends on the bracket cost, but I think it's manageable, I thank everybody for the offer.

I look at it like this, limit my investment, keep going as long as the demand is there, if they start coming out of China for $20, I just dump what I have and hope I made enough money to have made it worth it.

I would not trust something that cost 20 dollars to be the right length etc. 200 was a bit much especially when it doesn't come marked. I don't trust Ford even when I had them check the level after driving it for a bit. That stock thing is too big a pita to get at when hot.
