That hood looks really good on there.
I'm itching to get the vents painted black and wrapping it to match the rest of the truck.

Since my hood supports died i felt like the hood was still too heavy even though it's aluminum 50 lbs. Still gonna warranty the supports and replace them. I decided to get one of them fancy fiberglass ones. The fit was pretty good. I did have to put my ditch light bracket between the ginger and his on the passenger side to get the height even. It was too low on that side. I trimmed the leading edge to make the line even with the grille and headlights. I swapped over the windshield wiper fluid sprayers and weatherstrips over as well. The heat extraction dies actually work as i check with my infrared thermometer. Maybe I'll switch the CAI to one that has an open top and seal the ram air to it in the future. Took a bit of adjusting to get the latch to close with the same amount of drop as the stock one had. Going to get some heat cycles in to fully cure it and then paint the vents black and wrap the rest to match the rest of the truck.

Nice front photo !
I like the look of it, but wouldn't fiberglass be just as heavy as aluminum? Ours are steel, same as the tailgate, you can imagine how heavy mine is! ( no struts / damper)

It's a bit lighter. I could tell when removing and installing. Maybe 10-15 lbs.

As I was prepping the vent area for paint it crumbled away on this corner. It was too thin from manufacturing. Bondoglass to the rescue. I'll have the lines cleaned up when it gets wrapped.

Took a can and a half but the underside is covered. Just need to wrap the top and it's done.

Replaced the supplied bolts with studs and nylock nuts like factory but in stainless steel.

Good news: I got the new compressor in since the old one died and found the multiple air leaks. One was an elbow that actually rotted through. Bad news: one of the leaks was the pressure switch and no one has one in stock. Half way done. Also installed a replacement underhood light on the new hood. And right angle spade connectors are cool.

Even though the fiberglass hood is lighter it's still nice to have the struts back after warranty.

Finally got the hood wrapped to match and replaced my homemade ditch light brackets with a store bought set.

Third intake system. This one will end up sealing up with the hood scoop. Just need to get the replacement lid made. Fit and finish is better than the first 2 I had.

Wow! Your truck’s looking great with that new hood, Ray. ?

Is that the AmeriHood like the one @rydfree installed?
