    Biked up to the dealership after work yesterday. After placing my order back in November the last couple of days waiting for the dealership to do the "checks" on the vehicle was a slow torturous agony. Threw the bike in the six foot bed and hopped in to poke and prod the new vehicle.

    I gave the dealership a list of the items I was concerned with, which seemed to be summarily ignored. Tires, as shown in on of the photos, were over inflated. The door panel had the discoloration that so many have experienced. This was my first experience with Sync3 and unfortunately it seemed clunky and slow to respond to presses. I will have to update the software and see if that improves response of the Sync3 system (another of my requests on the list :(). I intend to go through the lighting and transfer my led lights from the Xterra over to the Ranger before I sell it. Last but not least I'm experiencing the transmission rough shifting as well (TSB check I requested, DENIED).

    So after getting the ugly out of the way I'm pleased to say I'm happy with my purchase. The vehicle is responsive to throttle input. It's small wheel base makes it pretty nimble. The two information screens I have in my cluster are customizable to what information I want even though it will take me a bit to figure out how to use them effectively. The wife immediately made use of the heated leather seats and loved the mood lighting. The radio, while not HD, was decent to listen to. I'm still missing that B&O sound system though :(, my Hyundai has stereo 10" sub-woofers in it, I love good bass.

    Sorry for the mediocre pictures I will put up some better pictures when I start to put my additions on the vehicle. I've named the back seats the Mother in laws penthouse...;)

    Manager at my store brought by his 91 XLT. He's pretty self conscience on the appearance of his vehicles but he let me take some pictures even though his pickup wasn't cleaned up...lol!

    First road trip 340 miles in total. Ranger Trip 1 says 20.6MPG with 375.7 total miles traveled. First fill up at 260.6 miles for 12.36 gallons for 21.08 MPG. Completion of road trip final leg was 116.8 miles with Ranger Trip 2 stating 23.2 MPG.

    Type of driving was mix of City/Highway. Highway miles covered rolling terrain with <30° hills. One driver(191lbs), one passenger(210lbs) for entire trip with less then 230lbs additional gear on return leg.

    I need to look at my Trip 2 to see what the accumulated MPG is. I forgot that I reset both when I picked it up but haven't reset Trip 2. I think I am gonna have Trip 2 as a running total of MPG. That way I can compare to my spreadsheet. Thanks for the idea! :like:

    2nd fill up of 15.302 Gal with hand calculation of 18.52 MPG. Mainly city driving with up to one mile average trips. Ranger trip 1 shows 283.3 miles driven with 20.1 MPG. Ranger trip 2 shows 542.2 with MPG of 19.9.

    Total average bed load around 80lbs. Driver and passengers 390.

    Took the Ranger on the track last weekend, being my first time ever I'm not going to post the reaction time ;) Weather was sunny with the track a little over 100 Degrees, Elevation 2,254.

    This weekend the Ranger will head down the track again. I'm hoping to improve a bit on the tree and have some fun. After which I get to start putting on extras! Till then here's some shots of the Ranger out and about! She looks good dirty :D

    WOW! an extended cab Lariat, I thought those were as mythical as Bigfoot or a Yeti. :)

    Thanks! I'm going to a nearby eighth mile track this weekend. I'm hoping to get down to the 1/4 mile track next month if my work scheduled allows if not I'll try for August. Not being too serious with it, just having fun. I'll have to get some pictures and video put up if I can get some good shots.

    I don't like sharing my toys ;). I wanted a six foot bed and this was the only way I could get it. Still miffed I was not able to get the better sound system in the xcab but if I need to I have two 10" subs I can throw in from my car...;)

    Could not get traction to the ground, spinning all the way through 3rd gear....Need cheater slicks...bummer.
