Race day last Saturday! Eighth mile track and a beautiful day. First time for me to get a .0 reaction time! Will try and get some videos up to share later tonight. Experimented with deep staging on my time only runs and look forward to some more seat time to nail it down.

Of course I had a great day at work but we had some hellish winds today. Came out to the Ranger and my right rear quarter glass was shattered. Will get some better pictures tomorrow when its light out...

Guess who's getting a 6x12 enclosed trailer....:D Been looking for one since I built the Ranger on the Ford website. Was dissipointed when the bed wasn't wide enough for the tires on the quad so after Sunday I will have someplace to haul the ATV and any gear I need for SAR calls.

Brought it home in one piece! Fuel mileage was better then I expected with the 30-40 mph winds. Over the course of 120+ miles averaged 14mpg. Of course it was empty but pulled great! Looking forward to some firmer ground to get some wiring done and install some tie downs so I can store my SAR gear in.

Episode 4 Season 6 Drama!

Finished with my second call to Ford Motor Company Customer service. Again representitive was more then happy to assist me but asked the same question over and over. "Why are you calling us with this?" Seems there is a bit of disconnect between Ford and my dealership. Last time it didn't take long to resolve, I'm hoping this is the case this time as well once they get in touch with my dealership.

I just love it when I go to the dealership and the immediate response is "call Ford"...lol. I'm like...there's a blue oval outside...
I three way call them in situations like this, and then let them try to blame each other. At a minimum you'll get an entertaining argument, otherwise one of em, typically the dealership, bows out and takes responsibility.

Just put on the spare tire mount for the trailer and thought I would do a quick check to see if the tire tools on the ranger would fit the trailer. Unfortunately the mounting on the wheels and spare have the studs sticking so far out to ensure I have to carry another tool to change the tires if something happens.

Seems like a pain to cut down twelve studs down to allow for easier access, plus I consider it something of an anti-theft deterrent as well. Curious as to what others have done in these situations?

Deep well socket ?
Actually funny story...I have a set of Gearwrench ratchet wrenches, figured that would work just dandy to tighten down the two lug nuts on the spare holder...The ratchet piece fell out before I could put it on the nut. Before bringing it back to the store to warrenty I tested the others to make sure no others would do the same.

Luck would have it I have an 11/16 impact deep well socket that I used to finish the job. Made it a bit easier... :D

Finally got my pickup back from the shop. Two years after getting sandblasted by 80+ mph winds and the tonnue cover dropping into the bed; I am happy to get back into the drivers seat! My only issue is the left rail on the cover still does not reach to the end of the bed so it allows the rail to flex when the cover is rolled down. Going to make a call to Bak to see what can be done before something happens again.

Two years fighting with the dealership and my insurance to replace the damaged Ford Branded X4. Finally just told the shop that was doing the repair work to order a X4S straight from BAK. After the install I have the same issue as the old cover, the driver side rail is cut too short on the underside. This repeats with the passanger side with just the barest metal contact.

Emailed BAK with pictures and now I get to wait for new rails. Good news is with the same issue with the new tonneau insurance will finally cover the wind damage to the old cover. Almost there, can't wait to race this next month!

Good News! After over two years the Ranger is finally whole again! It took six more phone calls to the insurance to produce the language they needed to complete the claim for the tonneau cover and wind/(rocks) damage. For some reason they would not process the claim unless I said I was being hit by rocks, go figure.

Spent a couple hours getting the Ranger cleaned up for drag racing. This weekend will be the first race so I'm hoping to have a great time on the track and I will try and share some pictures after.

As promised a few pictures of the test and tune today. Will get some video worked up, and some info of my runs, after tomorrow. I don't know if there will be racing due to weather.

Had to make a trip out to see the doctor, coming back the Ranger helped me keep my insurance premium down!
