I love those old bridges. Unfortunately most all of them around me have been replaced. Is that one still functional? If so can your ranger cross it?

This is one that was abandoned in place. The bridge that replaced it has now been replaced.

I believe it was an old rail bridge. It's not big enough to drive across but it can be crossed on foot.

I've been using denatured alcohol in a spray bottle to try to make those steps not so bad. It works okay when getting in, but after driving, I ain't flexible enough to reach down a spray.

And ditto on the shins, I dread the day that I'll inevitably skin them on those steps. If not the winter than being careless coming back from kayaking. Bah! =p

Like you, I grab what I can and pray! =D

Ford should have included heating coils to the steps. A 1-2kw/1m (3ft) heating cable cris-crossing inside the step would be quick solution for the step icing.

Similar setup should be also in the area between the hood and windshield and the drain holes there in.

And what comes to SNOW. I'm still waiting the global warming to come over and solve the issue.

That's a pretty clever solution! Hmm, thank you for the idea. I have a terrible time with my tailgate and tonneau when it's below freezing and a heat strip arrangement, like you mention, could possibly solve this! =)

Tell the truth, I copied the idea from real trucks :)

ie. like this

For the tonneau cover the bed exhaust gas heater might work (in which you pipe the exhaust gasses through the bottom & sides of the bed in order to keep the material in bed as unfrozen).

Or this
I bet when Bro’ washes his truck, he intentionally leaves every speck of “coal dust” back there.

I really can't say anything about my Ranger in the snow. I leave it in the driveway when we have snow here in Pennsylvania because the roads are heavily salt/brined. I drive my old 2003 Mountainer 8cyl AWD. It's a heavy vehicle with new tires and goes great in the snow... unless snow is higher than the under carriage!

We are going through a spell of 14 degrees with 1' snow drifts then 1" of sleet on top. Then freezing rain for two days :frown:  Oh I forgot 70 MPH winds for the first two days also. Hundreds of trees down and thousands without power. My Ranger handles it like a champ. I am very impressed!!!!
My poor hummingbirds I am worried about with the howling winds and snow, ice and freezing rain.

Love that photo Matt - reminds me of biking around Steveston, Ladner, or along the Fraser in North Delta.

Where was it taken?
