Heading out of town to check snow load on my cottage tomorrow - storms in the area are expected to end today withh clear skies tomorrow. I received this alert today from the local PD…

“ALL ROADS” - it’s a big area (3,500 sq. miles) with a ton of roads. Hmmm, it just might make for some great Rangers in Snow pictures.

* runs out to garage to make sure recovery gear is in the truck and not on garage shelves - tosses a shovel in the bed before heading back in

Living in this area....can confirm.....when it's just right with the weather conditions when they say the roads are closed they really mean it.....proof ??....here is a couple images getting home from work.....Hwy 21 and poor weather ripping off Lake Huron will do it every time.

Arlyn,

I’m pretty sure your reference to the Ottawa National Forest, had Desmondo thinking about Joeperry Lake in Bon Echo Park, not too far from Ottawa, Ontario. ?
Yup, I believe there is a Bonnechere Provincial Park or Lake near by as well. Bon Echo is a great medium size park. Learned that racoons won't eat corn beef there as well as at least 1 monster muskie or pike that break leaders.

A few pics from last weeks epic storm here in Utah. Alta is reporting nearly 70" total. Been so busy skiing and working had no time to post. Pics of the ranger are after cleaning nearly 30 inches off of it once already. Another 30 magically appeared a day later! The landscape pic is of our company suburban with nearly the full storm on it. 50+ inches. The storm averaged 26:1 density, so super light 5% fluff. With no wind the skiing has been all time. Literally chest deep. Had a break the last few days, but a nasty windy 12 inches is forecasted for today, with another four feet in the 10 day forecast. Good thing my shovelling is done on the clock!

I couldn't imagine living anywhere else... because nowhere else gets as much snow! ?

In all seriousness, I'm happy to have free parking, free skiing, and a schedule that allows me to ski the greatest snow on earth six days a week. I love shovelling my truck out because it means I spent the morning skiing powder. I rarely have to actually drive the Ranger on snowy roads other than moving it to get my spot plowed out. I do make a ton of 10-20min shuttle trips in a 4x4 sprinter during storms, so I get my snow driving fix that way.
