Rain Sense Wipers

Yes they did wipe once in awhile out of nowhere

There is a courtesy wipe option you can enable/disable in the HUD, and if you leave your wiper selector in the column in the intermittent position they may sense a need to wipe occasionally.

I thought the courtesy wipe was an extra, delayed wipe after you run some washer fluid.

Mine has. I just thought it must sense moisture I couldn't see.

Mine will occasionally wipe unexpectedly on a bright, sunny day.

My SA said he had never heard of this. REALLY I was on the interstate today was 94 degrees and clear and it wiped once

Hi Gary,

Clean the windshield around the front facing camera. Bug splats will also cause wiper activation. Camera can not tell a bug from a rail drop....

I forgot to turn mine back on this spring/summer. It didn’t work the greatest this past winter so I turned it off. It was understandable because conditions were right at that point where it’s either too little or too much.

Just an FYI, the front facing camera is at the top center of the windshield in front of the rear view mirror.

We've had some overnight storms lately where the windshield has a lot of water on it in the morning, but not actually raining and when I start the truck no wipe at all. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time before I intervene?

Hmmmm....not sure but maybe speed sensitive wipers at zero speed do not wipe? Maybe not in drive? Just a guess....

I wonder if it could be that the sensor gets blocked by dead bugs or bird droppings? On my Escape, I've had a message come up with something about the camera for anti collision braking, etc is blocked and I need to clean the lens. It's behind the lower gravel shield, which collects a lot of bugs and road debris. the warning goes away by itself after about 15 minutes.
I have turned off all of the "driver annoyance" features that can be done without Forscan.
