Enabling RainSense requires a few tweaks in Forscan and a new Stalk ($70) and a rain sensor ($35). You have to wire the sensor as well, which isn't hard. 3 wires, power/ground and the sensor wire goes to a wire in the SCCM module (accessed under the steering wheel column cover).
I have this function on my truck. Worked perfect last summer but after winter sensitivity seems to not function very well by test. While raining it’s quite useless.
Forscan showed it off while on truck it was on.

I loathe automated systems in vehicles.

Half the cars I pull over at night with no headlights on, or only running lights, they have no idea how to turn the headlights back to automatic when they unknowingly turned it to one of the manual selections. "Ma'am / Sir how can you even see where you are going with no lights on?" The usual response: "Well I couldn't figure out how to fix it". Yes they will literally drive anyways.

Makes our society dumber on some level and cheats Darwin.

Calling me a luddite would be a exaggeration, but I foresee many generations from now vehicle drivers having no knowledge of basic functions.

How many people already left their lives in the hands of automated driving only to smoosh themselves into concrete barriers or semi-trucks. The examples now are far and few between, but give it time. Mark my words.

I think it's evolution creep. I agree that society is dumbing down, and since Cain & Abel the previous generation has scorned their descendent gens. My generation poo-poohs my childrens' because they can't drive a stick.
But how many on this forum could salt preserve food? Hook up a plow to a horse? Sure, you could learn, but...
So my children or grandchildren will be living in a time when the latest generation gets from A to B via a transporter room, and the oldsters will scoff at them because they can't even summon an autonomous pod.
Sure, you could learn, but...

I don't mind automated systems. I just have my opinion where they are warranted.

Another big problem I have with things like automated headlights, rain wipers, and so forth, is I have to pay for this crap when I don't want it. Same for all the lane keeping assist stuff.

I understand a lot of crap on vehicles now a days is forced by the business end of the proverbial government gun, but I digress.

Automated systems make long drives much less tiring. Done long drives at days and nights even before I got my driver license and with any kind of vehicles.
It’s much more pleasant to drive with AT, ACC, auto lights and wipers on in a dark and rain than switch between gears, manually switch lights all the time and control wipers at same time as well.
I enjoy driving fully equipped Ranger, but I have no problem driving anything with 4 wheels excluding new tractors.
I have line keeping system on my truck too, I don’t like it, but if it would not work I would get it fixed ;)
I’m kind of OCD in these things.

Automated systems are welcome, much worse is texting while driving. At least here.
