Welcome - smart purchase.

Most aftermarket parts and accessories companies will refer to it as either a “SuperCab” or “Extended Cab”. They’re as confused as you are. Ford will refer to it as a “SuperCab”.

Because of the configuration, you might be limited in choice for certain things like fender flares, running boards, tonneaus, canopies, roof racks, and such. You’ll be able to find these accessories but you may have fewer styles to choose from.

When it comes to a tailgate damper, the only one that fits the SCAB is very clearly labelled: “For 2019-2022 Ford Ranger SuperCab Only”. If you do not see that printed on the image of the package online, don’t buy it because it won’t fit your truck and you’ll be returning it.

Good choice in picking the Ranger. I'm guessing there was more profit (commission) in the Tacoma for the salesman so that's why he was pushing you towards it. Many of us (myself included) traded in our 3rd Gen Tacomas for one and haven't been sorry at all. The drivetrain on the Ranger is 1000x's better and smoother than the Tacoma and the seating position is way more comfortable. You should have your son drive your Ranger for a few miles, I bet he won't come back. lol

regardless of what door config u have the biggest thing is if you get the tailgate damper or not also your first investment should be a lift wheels and 35's youll be happy you did
